Making any of the AAU Post Season Award-All State teams is something you should be proud of. With having a vast amount of skilled players out of this state, throughout all age levels, to be named as basically 1 of the Top 25 for an age group, for an entire AAU season speaks volumes. It shows to everyone watching out there that no matter the stage, competition level, or situation in front of the player – They WILL succeed. Below is the list of players selected to the 17U All State-Third Team for the spring/summer AAU season. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
<!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["612984"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='612984' first='Alyvia' last='McCorkle'] had a stock-rising summer for her Mac Irvin 17U Godfather team. McCorkle, a witty and quick thinking point guard, has displayed confidence and skill throughout this entire spring/summer AAU season. This confidence has led to great success for Mccorkle's team as a whole, as well as her individual success. Since the start of Spring she has received a handful of Division-1 offers by some well-known Universities from all around the country. For this upcoming winter McCorkle will be attending and competing for Bettendorf high school out of the quad cities area of Iowa. With her skill-set and ability with the ball in her hands, I'm expecting some big games and an even bigger season for that squad as a whole. A player that is highly ranked both nationally and in her perspective state, is one that college coaches can't wait to get their hands on. Houston is a play-maker, a physical presence, and she is knowledgeable about the game. I would say that her best ability is finding holes in the defense. She is the type of player that consistently has, and will, produce for her teams in almost every possible way, but the way she runs the court and finds the ball while cutting to the basket is quite impressive. Defensively with her size she does well in most matchups. She has displayed this AAU season that she is versatile, agile, and a winner overall. When you mix these things together, you get something special. Looking forward to the school year there are a lot of questions for their Davenport North high school team but none of those questions are about Houston and how she plays the game. I'm excited to see what she can do for her junior year after putting together a nice AAU campaign this spring/summer. ","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["311368"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='311368' first='Breckyn' last='Schilling'] lands onto this Third Team All State list for a few reasons. The first being that she is an effective player, who knows the game of basketball and displays superior athleticism compared to the athletes on the court around her. The next reason being that she played every position for her [program_tooltip program_id='712576' first='Iowa' last='Intensity'] 17U team, 1-5, for the entire year and put up some great individual numbers. Schilling is a natural small forward with her size but because of her teams youth presence and not having a ton of game experience, she would consistently have to move to the point guard position and bring up the basketball. It would be tough for me to find another player out of the state of Iowa, who had to be more versatile then Schilling did for this spring/summer AAU season. She did everything she could out there and left it all on the court. Not much more you can ask from a player. ","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["432963"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='432963' first='Grace' last='Linder'] put together a nice campaign for her [program_tooltip program_id='712420' first='Beyond' last='Ball'] 17U team, while helping them to an overall successful season as a whole. Linder has length, athleticism, smarts, and some skill to go along with all of that. She understands how to use her size over smaller opponents when she is close to the basket but also possesses the ability to catch at the three point line and put the ball on the floor, getting all the way to the hoop for a bucket or assist. Linder is a complete player. She never tries to force any action and shows that she is dedicated to the craft. I think this high school season she could get some varsity minutes with the roster that her Valley team possesses but if so, she is going to have to work hard for it. Playing behind two of the best bigs in the state of Iowa is no easy task but I'm sure Linder is going to make the most of it and come out on top. As for this spring/summer AAU season, she was definitely one of the best players I saw competing out of the state of Iowa for her position.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["314135"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='314135' first='Kahlie' last='Hill'] had one of the best seasons throughout all players this year in AAU ball, in the state Iowa, no matter the age level. Hill was effective down low, physical when she caught in the post, great with her footwork, and most importantly-extremely dominate near the rim. In every contest that I had the privilege of watching of Hills, she was her teams leader in rebounds and buckets in the paint. The only reason that Hill fell to the third team in this series of articles is not because of her body of work this spring/summer, but the personal match-up against the other two bigs that were placed before her in Jenkins, and Speiser. Hill did nothing wrong. Those two are just high-end Division-1 players and their level of domination against better competition this spring/summer was my overall deciding factor. I'm not sure if Hill wants to play college ball but if she does, I'm sure there is a school around that could use her height and talents at the next level. It just has to be the right fit.
