GYBC All American Camp: NC Standouts Part I

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>GYBC hosted their All American Camp last weekend where athletes from all over the country came together to learn new skills and apply them to game situations during some scrimmages.&nbsp; The event was hosted in Charlotte, North Carolina, and athletes from the hoop state were definitely making their names known.&nbsp; Let's take a look at Part I of the NC standouts from the event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":738333,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/08/Jaidiah-Blake-copy-rotated-crop-3024x1986-1691717401.jpg?w=800" alt="" class="wp-image-738333" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='635063' first='Jaidiah' last='Blake'] - 5'8” 2027</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Blake had a nice move to the hoop attacking the lane and putting up her shot in the paint finishing through contact for the old fashioned three point play.&nbsp; She was definitely one of the most shifty ball handlers at the event controlling the tempo and attacking the gaps on offense.&nbsp; She was effective getting space to show off her shot on the dribble.&nbsp; She did a nice job getting back on defense being ready to deflect passes up the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":738339,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/08/Courtney-Ashford-copy-rotated-crop-3024x1986-1691717460.jpg?w=800" alt="" class="wp-image-738339" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Courtney Ashford - 5'2” 2027&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ashford was showing such strong defense whether she was on the ball stripping it away from her opponents or she was knocking away passes.&nbsp; She sees the floor well finding her open teammates up the court for fast breaks.&nbsp; Her between the legs dribbles are so lethal creating space for her to go to work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":738346,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/08/Gabriella-Willis-copy-rotated-crop-3024x1986-1691717521.jpg?w=800" alt="" class="wp-image-738346" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gabriella Willis - 5'2” 2028</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Willis showed off her range shooting the ball increasing the tempo for her team as they pushed the ball up the court.&nbsp; She was consistently one of the first ones back on defense, and she used this position to get inside for rebounds.&nbsp; She served as her own outlet pass being ready to push the ball up the court. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Aliyah Flittner - 5'5” 2028</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Flittner had some nice passes hitting her teammates in stride whether she was making a long pass up the court or dropping the pass down into the paint from the top of the key.&nbsp; She did a nice job attacking the paint to score her own points using fakes along the way to lose her defenders. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":738348,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/08/Makenzie-Gonder-copy-rotated-crop-3024x1986-1691717609.jpg?w=800" alt="" class="wp-image-738348" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Makenzie Gonder - 5'3” 2029</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gonder used a nice shot fake to attack the basket finding the lane and filling it finishing with two points.&nbsp; She found her open teammates easily keeping her eyes up as she dribbled the ball up the court.&nbsp; She was weaving in and out of her opponents running full speed with the ball to get to the rim. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
