Expert Analysis
Brandon Bradley | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The Eva I saw today, and the Eva I remember from the Spring a year ago are two completely different prospects. She is now stronger, much more physical, and she seems to be loving defense. At times she was a problem defensively, and she used her length against her opponent’s smaller guards to be a 1-person press, it felt like. She is constantly moving, always giving effort, and she shot the ball very well from the perimeter. If all she did was play extremely hard and consistent, she would be a nice prospect. Add in her skill and IQ, and she’ll have her share of elite small colleges chasing her.

Eva has always been an intriguing prospect because of her length, athleticism, and balanced skillset. When she played “up” a little in the Spring, she was very good, and she continued that strong play throughout June and July. She is extremely long, but fluid, and end-to-end fast. She plays with a great motor, and she is willing to battle much bigger players inside the paint for rebounds and as a defender. Eva is naturally more of a wing, and she can step outside and knock down jumpers, get to the rim, or defend the perimeter as well.

Eva is one of only a couple of Varsity performers for the Spartans who won’t be in their loaded 2026 or 2028 classes. She is very long, fluidly athletic, and she has gotten noticeably stronger. She always plays with a strong motor, she has become an effective defender, plus she has typically been a capable shooter/scorer over the years. Her ability to play multiple roles will not only help her opportunity at Homestead, but it has also helped her recruiting.

Eva is a very intriguing prospect for the Spartans, and she looks to have a nice ceiling and room for growth. First, she might truly still grow another inch or two, which can always help. Second, she is incredibly long and wiry, so adding some strength to her frame should help her absorb contact better and produce more consistently. However, she does try to be physical inside, she rebounds, and she defends. She also possesses perimeter skill, she can handle the ball at times, attack the basket, and knock down open jumpers. She might have to play an interior position for an undersized Homestead squad, but she is a wing by nature.
