During the Spring of 2025, Eva started to “figure it out”, and she has only raised her game since then. She has been spectacular at times this Spring, and she has improved her recruiting significantly. She is incredibly long, bouncy, and fast. She plays with a great motor, and she is willing to lay her body on the line to save a possession. She has gotten stronger, is absorbing contact much better, plus she has improved her handle and become a knockdown 3-point shooter. Ultimately, she has transitioned from being a forward at a younger age to being a pure shooting guard who is a genuine threat outside.

gives Homestead a versatile wing who can impact games in multiple areas. Her size, athleticism, and skill set allow her to contribute as both a scorer and defender, making her an important piece for the Spartans.
Scarbeary thrives in situations where she can utilize her versatility. She can score from the perimeter, attack the basket, rebound effectively, and defend several positions. Her willingness to compete on both ends of the floor makes her a valuable player regardless of the matchup.
June will be an important opportunity for Scarbeary to showcase her continued development. Homestead traditionally plays a challenging schedule, and her ability to provide consistent production against top competition could elevate both her individual profile and her team’s performance throughout the summer.
Speaking of opportunity, Eva was surrounded this year by a talented 2026 class and a talented 2028 class. She was the lone 2027 who contributed to the Spartans’ success, and next season, she could have a much bigger role. This Spring, however, she has shown how talented she is. She is shooting it very well, she has nice length, good athleticism, and she plays with a tremendous motor. She does a nice job of using her length and athleticism defensively as well, and she has been great in trapping situations. As she continues to get stronger, she’ll finish more consistently inside.
The Eva I saw today, and the Eva I remember from the Spring a year ago are two completely different prospects. She is now stronger, much more physical, and she seems to be loving defense. At times she was a problem defensively, and she used her length against her opponent’s smaller guards to be a 1-person press, it felt like. She is constantly moving, always giving effort, and she shot the ball very well from the perimeter. If all she did was play extremely hard and consistent, she would be a nice prospect. Add in her skill and IQ, and she’ll have her share of elite small colleges chasing her.
Eva has always been an intriguing prospect because of her length, athleticism, and balanced skillset. When she played “up” a little in the Spring, she was very good, and she continued that strong play throughout June and July. She is extremely long, but fluid, and end-to-end fast. She plays with a great motor, and she is willing to battle much bigger players inside the paint for rebounds and as a defender. Eva is naturally more of a wing, and she can step outside and knock down jumpers, get to the rim, or defend the perimeter as well.
Eva is one of only a couple of Varsity performers for the Spartans who won’t be in their loaded 2026 or 2028 classes. She is very long, fluidly athletic, and she has gotten noticeably stronger. She always plays with a strong motor, she has become an effective defender, plus she has typically been a capable shooter/scorer over the years. Her ability to play multiple roles will not only help her opportunity at Homestead, but it has also helped her recruiting.
Eva is a very intriguing prospect for the Spartans, and she looks to have a nice ceiling and room for growth. First, she might truly still grow another inch or two, which can always help. Second, she is incredibly long and wiry, so adding some strength to her frame should help her absorb contact better and produce more consistently. However, she does try to be physical inside, she rebounds, and she defends. She also possesses perimeter skill, she can handle the ball at times, attack the basket, and knock down open jumpers. She might have to play an interior position for an undersized Homestead squad, but she is a wing by nature.
