First up, I will look at my Starting Five from the teams I saw. These players will not be included in the upcoming evaluations since they are being covered today.
Really like her overall guard skills when she is on the floor. Brooke is a good floor leader and knows how to push the break. She has excellent court vision and an ability to find her teammates. I expect this junior to bd a very productive player for a talented and deep Lakota East squad.
Highlights
Scully is a very talented and polished guard in a good high school program and can make plays happen at both ends of the floor. Smooth shooter and good active hands on defense. In fact, I believe she was one of the top 5 pure shooters in the building on this day! Experienced leader, good basketball court sense and a solid game IQ. Will be the leader year for the Yellow Jackets.
She vaulted up the latest rankings, then today I got to see her in person for the first time. Impressive young player with a high ceiling ahead of her. One of the first things I saw from her is her ability to play the game super aggressive and with her athleticism, she is able to pressure the ball and force mistakes. Explodes with first step, tough to stop at the rim. Can play physical. Coaches…. she is only a sophomore!
Another player from the Northeast Ohio region who shined on this day. I mean this kid is everywhere on the court and has her hands on everything! I love her game! Knocks down the perimeter shot, fiery and active, quick shot off the pass, elevates well. Can make the acrobatic shot look easy and rips by her defender to score.
Highlights
One word to describe her game is electric! She is a point guard for a state title contending high school program who is able to take over a game on either end of the floor. Always loved her game, will make someone a solid addition at the next level. Great basketball IQ!! Plays the game so smooth and poised. Coaches…make her phone ring!
