Karmin has been in our rankings since she was a middle schooler at Hancock County. Her stock has tumbled a little over the last year or so but I think she’s due for a big Junior season. Known for her shooting, Riley is becoming more comfortable as a driver and I expect her to get to the free throw line more often this year than in past seasons. Once she’s there, she can convert a lot of And-1 opportunities.
Staying in the third region, I’m looking for Savannah to have a big Junior campaign for a good Meade County team. Triplett and Riley are a lot alike as both prefer to let it fly from behind the three point line. Savannah is going to have to get more comfortable taking contact but I think she’s more than capable. If she can do that, she’ll get to the free throw line more often than a year ago and boost her scoring numbers just by getting to the line.
Highlights
One of the standout players at our Top 250 a couple of weeks ago, Nataya is a sleeper for a Madison Central team that is capable of making noise in the 11th region this season. Shifty with the ball in her hands, Strader is a good decision maker with the ball and is also a good shooter when she’s operating as a catch and shoot player. Her stock is definitely trending up.
Hogan, like Strader is a really good point guard for an 11th region program. Leia is quick and confident with the ball. She’s got above average handles and is just as capable as a passer as she is as a scorer. Leia is talented and would play 32 minutes a game for about any other team in the 11th region. Playing at Franklin County has taught her how to pick her spots and be an efficient scorer.
