LaVega is guard-heavy and is one of the favorites to win a State Championship so that means B2B yet the abundance of guards they have can apply heat will have me come back and drop a story on their squad. The same can be said for Duncanville and Hitchcock who look like they can make an intense run, possibly all the way, so I'll drop something on them as well but here are some of the guards that just showed that "takeover" ability

[player_tooltip player_id='692430' first='Kimora' last='Carroll']-5'6 CG (Hitchcock) 2026

Carroll understands how to use her athleticism on both ends so when you factor in not only her on-the-ball pressure, but her quick hands, both help to create turnovers yet watching her after the steal can be exciting because she not only can see the floor, she can see it in the open court. She also sees it in the set and with her first step being a problem to defend, she can score off the dribble as well as dish off the dribble. She has a nice mid to long-range game and can drain it under pressure

[player_tooltip player_id='594032' first='Aolani' last='Woldai']-5'6 PG (Brewer) 2025

Woldai is one of the most explosive players in the state and her energy trickles down to her teammates. She understands how to control the tempo but watching her thread the needle in traffic from 25 feet going full speed speaks volumes about her court vision. She applies baseline-to-baseline pressure on the defensive end, she rebounds, and goes coast to coast to dish or finish yet her ability to just take the defender in the set and finish acrobatically is very nice, yes after contact. She also can drop the mid to long-range jumper

[player_tooltip player_id='392661' first='Endia' last='Stigall']-5'4 PG (Buda Hays) 2026

Stigall's mindset sold me years ago and after watching her drop 40 on a player heading to a D1 program while in the 7th grade, well that JUST DID IT for me. She creates her shot very well under pressure but her speed is also a factor and she handles the ball effortlessly under pressure as she accelerates in transition. She can drop the "stop and pop" jumper, both mid to long-range yet her zig-zagging by defenders to score off the dribble, and body control after contact, is also nice

[player_tooltip player_id='206964' first='Chloe' last='Mann']-5'9 SG (Duncanville) 2024

Mann continues to elevate her game, yeah I called her a #D1Lock in middle school but her continuous progress on the court has her on the short list of many college programs at that level as I type. Speaking of elevating, watching her soar over defenders off the dribble to score, she also does it on putbacks, yes, she rebounds on both ends but that elevation on her jumper, with a hand in her face, from mid to long-range is hard to defend. Well she also defends well in the set as well well as the full court, this includes playing the passing lane

[player_tooltip player_id='309654' first='Kiyleyah' last='Parr']-5'6 CG (La Vega) 2024

Parr is the straw that stirs the drink because she "stirs things up" for her teammates. As I stated earlier, the never-ending amount of athletic guards on her squad can create havoc but she mixes not only that but the ability to take over games offensively in the blink of an eye. Her first step helps start it off, she's explosive and that, coupled with a slight HEZ, gets her by the defender with ease yet she can drop it from outside, mid to long-range, her court vision is also nice as she sets teammates up for gimmes

[player_tooltip player_id='674705' first='Debi' last='Hernandez']-5'4 CG (San Antonio Lee) 2024

Hernandez has always shown "sizedontmatter because she can flat-out play and if she needs to get hers "in the flow" as she gets her teammates involved using solid court vision, she can do that however if she needs to take over offensively, she knows how and when to do so. Watching her drain the long ball while being defended, I have personally seen her drop double-digit 3-pointers against next level defenders over the years, well that's impressive. She also does a good job of using a deceptive first step to get by the defender to score

[player_tooltip player_id='674622' first='Taliyah' last='Parker']-6'1 SG ( South Grand Prairie) 2024

Parker's play was over the top and my first really good look at her left a lasting impression as I immediately added her to the Top 100, I have to see it for myself and I'm still seeing her score any way imaginable. She's long and athletic, which will always be the base yet her pull-up jumper was very nice as she dropped it from multiple spots, mid to long range. She also explodes off the dribble, finishes after contact using nice body control, and rebounds on both ends. She also played solid defense and played the passing lane
