Expert Analysis

Katie Muller joined up with Missouri Phenom EYBL at the end of last Summer and she hasn’t looked back. The 6’2 SG just keeps getting bigger and better whenever we sit down to spectate her. She is becoming even more consistent as a shooter and she is also showing that she can make some things happen at the bucket with her nature height advantage. Muller was very impressive for her Junior year at Dowling Catholic. She put on what I’d call a shooting clinic in most of her contests, never letting up when she was feeling it. Missouri Phenom already brings a ton of eyes to their product so I’m sure Muller will be receiving more offers this Spring/Summer before she ends up making a decision.

of Dowling Catholic and Missouri Phenom EYBL. Muller has size, a shooting stroke that is picture perfect from any distance, and she is slowly learning how to add onto her game as a scoring threat near the bucket and as a top notch defender in her down time. We saw Muller hit shots all Winter long. There was a stretch where she had some tough shooting nights to start the season but those went away rather quickly. As we got closer and closer to the State Tournament, she became better and better as an overall prospect. She hit more shots, at a higher rate, while doing everything else should could in-between. This is a big AAU season for all of these hoopers. I’m excited to see what Muller can do with her new program on the road. She should be one of the best shooters on the 17U EYBL circuit the next few months so I can’t wait to see her finally go work.

‘s contribution is part of the reason why. Listed at 6’2″, this lengthy guard is putting up big numbers as of late to help the Maroons build momentum. In their last three wins, Muller has averaged 18 points, 8 boards, and 4 assists while shooting the three ball at an elite level (45%). Her height and lightning quick trigger give her the freedom to launch over contested hands, and her strength with the ball and relentlessness on the boards make her very hard to stop in the paint. In short, I am looking at

is playing some GREAT basketball right now. The type of basketball that could help her Dowling Catholic group to a State Title over the next month or so if they go about things in the correct way. Muller has been on fire in every facet you can name this past month a half. She has been lighting the nets on fire from deep off the catch. She has been rebounding on both ends and she has been defending her own position at a higher rate than most. It doesn’t take much to have Muller go off. She see’s one of her first attempts through the net and the rest might be history. The best part about Muller’s game to me is that she can shoot it going either direction, off of a screen or off of the catch or off the dribble. She just needs a little bit of space of daylight for an attempt and it always looks like it’s going to be good.

needed a staple game moving into 2026 in my book and she had that game this past weekend against other 5A powerhouse – Ankeny High School. Muller was on fire in this one from deep. Not only was she hitting shots off the catch at a high rate, she was also dribble into jumpers going either way while being heavily contested. She finished things off with 29 points and a high shooting percentage, much like her entire team. Ankeny had some problems navigating screens when Jayla William wasn’t in the action and that’s what ultimately decided in the game in the end.

is not that far behind Snoozy for the #1 spot out of this Class at this time. If Muller continues to put together a dominant Junior season and she can lead DC on a big run this Post season then it’s going to be a conversation for who is really #1 out of this group. Muller brings natural size and an impressive shooting ability to pair along with it. She comes in at around 6’2 and she has lethal range from deep on the shot. She has proven to start this Winter that she can handle fairly well and she can also defend multiple positions, depending on the lineup with her on the floor at the time. Muller is another future P4 commit. Coaches love the mixture of size and skill that she possesses so at the end of the day she will definitely have some choices as to where she wants to play in the future.

of Dowling Catholic is going to be in the conversation for the #1 player out of her 2027 Class this season with her consistent progression over the past six months on the travel floor. Muller is a 6’2 SG with a ton of promise in this sport. She can light the nets on fire from deep with her shooting stroke or she can attack off the dribble to get to a more favorable position offensively. Defensively, with her size she can stick to her position or switch onto a Post/Forward, if needed. Which demonstrates her versatility on both sides of the ball, especially defense. As of most recently, Muller took a visit to K-State to see what the Wildcats are all about. I’m not sure if this is where she will end up but it did look like she had a great time with the staff & current players on roster.

from an individual standpoint. Muller is a 6’2 SG that is a natural at her position. She has great height for a SG and she can really light the nets on fire from deep in quite a hurry. Right now Muller is the #2 rated prospect out of her 2027 Class but if she does well this season and leads by example, she will be in the conversation for that #1 spot moving into our next Update this December. She is that much of a game changer at this time. I’m hoping that Dowling Catholic has changed up their system to adapt to their new roster for this upcoming season. They have a smart coaching staff so I would really expect nothing less and for the Muller sisters to shine in the grand scheme of things once again.

The future possibilities that

brings to the hardwood is the reason she is so interesting as a prospect moving into her Junior season at Dowling Catholic. Muller is a lethal shooter from deep standing at 6’2. That’s a combination that you don’t see too often. I have a feeling that this is someone who is going to have a lot of incoming interest from the college ranks over the next twelve months. She is going to have to show her leadership this Winter with her sister and that will help her display what she is really capable of. If she can capitalize in some meaningful moments, who knows what the future could hold for her.

It is going to be very interesting to see how the dynamic of the Muller family plays off. Ellie will graduate after this upcoming Winter, with Katie to follow, and then their youngest sister (2029) stepping into the high school rankings. A few weeks ago all three sisters took a visit to Mizzou to check out the Tigers WBB program. They took pictures together in uniform with all three sisters, which was neat to see. Katie still has some time to figure out if she is going to follow in the foot steps of Ellie or not. If they do compete in college together, it would be cool but I also understanding going off and starting your own things so right now, anything could happen but one thing is for certain. These girls are going to continue to bring in offers until they commit. That’s for sure.
