Showed off her versatile offensive game vs McMinn Central. I really like that she’s adept at attacking the rim from the perimeter. In one of my favorite possessions, she caught on the left side on a horns set, ripped and went left all the way to the rim. Displayed really sneaky athleticism. She’s a really crafty scorer.
Swaney was putting pressure on the rim from the very get go. She’s super quick, and if she wins an inch to the rim, she’ll win the mile. McMinn Cenral is one of the best man to man defensive teams in the state, and they couldn’t stay in front of Swaney either!
Beaty is the closest thing to a “post” that Central has. She’s not really big or long, but uses exceptional quickness and strength to overcome a lot of that. Beaty was really active in this game on both games, and proved to be a tough assignment on the offensive glass.
Smyth showed some skills in this game we don’t always get to see from her. Her vision as a passer was on display from the elbows as she hit Heath a few times on backdoor cuts. Smyth won 50/50 balls. Was an asset on the glass. Attacked the rim hard. Smyth is a really nice role player for Heritage.
Mayfield looks really nice in her game vs Heritage, proving she could score from all three levels. She knocked down a huge three in the 3rd quarter to push the McMinn Central lead to 11. When Mayfield can be the 3rd scorer (behind Masingale and Bystry), this Central team becomes incredibly hard to beat.
Highlights
Gosh, at we PGH TN, we are Molly Masingale Molly Masingale 5’9″ | SF McMinn Co. | 2024 State TN fans. She just plays the right way. The lefty sniper led Central in scoring, and as usual, the Central offense was doing a lot of different things with Masingale. They will post her on the block….isolate her at the top of the key…her versatility really makes this Central offense run.

Graves proved to be poised beyond her years as she was able to handle the McMinn Central pressure about as well as any 2027 could. Graves has the reputation as knock-down three point shooter, but was taking it to the rack this game. Central is the type of team that applies so much pressure that you almost HAVE TO drive it vs them…and Graves proved capable of doing just that. I was impressed by the freshman!
