Over the last two years of watching Luci play, one thing has been clear…she can really shoot the basketball. Saturday, she looked stronger, more explosive, and she has quickened her shot process, making her more difficult to defend. She has also extended her range. Overall, I was mostly impressed with her aggressiveness and willingness to shoot when open, even from distance. At the same time, she is absorbing contact better off the dribble, plus she is defending with more physicality and urgency. If she can figure out how to use the free throw line as a weapon, watch out!

Luci is yet another one of those prospects who entered high school with questions about how much she could affect Varsity, and she too was known as an accurate shooter with the ability to score it from all three levels. What she has done so far makes a statement. She knocked in 41 3-pointers a season ago, and this year she has already made another 35 with plenty of time left on the calendar. She’s also shooting it at 39%, plus Luci is a capable point guard, and she does a nice job of using her tremendous length defensively. I can’t wait to her game’s growth in a couple of years.

Luci was that kid on Saturday who, you are watching one court, and you occasionally look over at another court and consistently see someone burying shot after shot. She has really nice length, speed and quickness, and she can really shoot it. I didn’t really see her in big sample sizes, so I need to see more, but she appeared to have really nice ball skill and potentially be a point guard.
