JK played a very good floor game for Banks before coming alive shooting the ball late against a very good Elbert County team. Like Lunsford, Gibson’s official position is small forward but because of skill and size to go along with a very good set of skills, she often plays 3 positions and could be four this season for Banks. Gibson hit four threes in the game with all of them (I believe) coming in the second half in about a five to seven minute stretch late in the game. She rebounded the ball very well from her guard position and helps the two rising freshman run the point and offense when it was needed. Gibson stood out last year not only because of her size and ability to shoot the ball, but also getting down hill and finishing at the rim through contact. She is one of the more underrated players in Georgia who could have a breakout junior season.

Gibson was hampered by a high ankle sprain from the previous game, but still was Banks’ biggest threat to score on offense. Gibson is tall and strong and handles the ball very well. On one of the first possessions she blew by her defender, got into the paint with two other Providence players waiting in help defense and Janakate was able to go up and around them and score off the glass. Gibson made several threes for Banks as well as getting to the free throw and converting her shots there. Gibson has the size and offensive ability to be a division one player in college. I expect her recruitment to pick up before her senior season.

Crafty guard that blends strength and skill. Gibson gets to her spots with her spin move and shoots the three consistently off the catch. Adds value on the glass and in pressing situations. Her toughness on both ends makes her a key glue piece in any backcourt.
