About Cadance
Expert Analysis
Jill Dunn | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A two-way guard that can facilitate and lead her team on the offensive end or can step up and be more of a scoring threat. Good IQ and leadership skills make Cadance a true asset at the lead guard spot. She can also spot up and knock down threes. Defensively, she gets her hands on a lot of balls that lead to steals for her and her team. Robinson should be moved off the watch list and into the rankings soon.

Her name certainly rings bells from this year’s Prep Girls Hoops Carolinas Freshman Showcase in Rock Hill. Robinson was one of the standout performers from that event and will surely be a reason why Southeast Guilford remains among the upper echelon of 4A teams throughout the Hoop State. The Falcons already put together an impressive showing last season after winning 17 games. Robinson definitely makes Southeast Guilford even better. She has accurate long range shooting capabilities and also understands how to change speeds with the ball on her hands. Court awareness and leadership capabilities are not often found in younger players, but Robinson is not one’s garden variety 2028.

There was a reason why we included Robinson in our preview of this year’s Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase. In the 3v3 portion that Saturday, Robinson particularly shined when shooting the ball from long range. She displayed a bit more of that accuracy from range when the event transitioned to the 5v5 part of the day. Robinson also understands the art of changing speeds when she has the ball in her hands. Awareness of where she is on the court is another one of her strong points and how she approaches the game is an indication she is ready to assume a leadership role even with her being relatively young in her career.

Robinson’s 4A Southeast Guilford team went from nine wins in coach Hannah Revis’ first season at the helm to 17 wins last season. One can expect for Robinson for continue to upward trajectory that the Falcons have been on as of late. At 5-foot-5, she will be a formidable force in Southeast Guilford’s backcourt. Robinson approaches the game with a high basketball IQ and this can be seen with her shot selection. If she is open and has the ball in her hand, expect her to take – and make – her attempt from long range. One would also want a point guard to display superb ball handling capabilities and Robinson does that effectively as well.
