Jill Dunn | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A young player that is all over the stat sheet. It doesn’t matter what category whether it is points, rebounds, assists, or steals. Adams is going to be at the top of the list. She is a sharpshooter that can shoot it anywhere on the court and from any range. She shoots the three balls, as well as her perimeter shots.

The way those record books at St. Joseph’s Catholic are already featuring Helmer’s name; Adams is setting herself to be all over those same books. She is finishing her fourth season playing at the varsity level sporting Knights blue and recently approached the 1,000-point plateau for her career. One of the premier sharpshooters in the state, Adams is concluding a regular season where she played in 23 games while averaging 17.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, three assists and 2.5 steals per contest. Adams was a major factor in St. Joseph’s Catholic advancing to the 3A Upper State championship last season and her team has what it takes to make an even deeper run in this year’s playoffs.

One of the state’s premier sharpshooters put herself on the statewide map years ago as a seventh grader and has only improved ever since. Following up a 2024-25 where St. Joseph’s Catholic advanced to the 3A Upper State championship game, Adams has been an on-court leader for her Knights to the tune of 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game. The most recent 3A coaches’ poll has the Knights ranked third. When the high school season concludes, her AEBL Girlz AAU team will play on Nike’s EYBL circuit throughout the spring and summer. Adams is one of seven sophomores on this season’s Knights team.

Following a 51-38 victory over SCISA 4A Heathwood Hall, Adams and her 3A St. Joseph’s Catholic assembling matched up with 5A Division 2 Chapin. Adams did what she does best to the tune of a game-high 19 points in what was a 52-39 result in favor of the Eagles. With more experience than the typical sophomore, Adams has firmly established herself as one of the premier sharpshooters in South Carolina. She will also throw defenders off balance with her rim-attacking capabilities and her ability to finish at the rim with her left hand. Screen-setting is another element to Adams’ game given she is taller than the typical two guard. St. Joseph’s Catholic will drop down to 2A starting with the 2026-27 season – and the next two years will see Adams as the on-court leader for the Knights.

Speaking of St. Joseph’s Catholic, Adams also was a key piece to the 3A Knights’ winning puzzle in 2024-25. Adams also secured an in-state Division I offer as Wofford has her on its radar. She played up in class with SC Eagles UA Rise 17U which was one of the teams that was part of the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. Adams is one of the premier 3-point specialists in the Palmetto State. Having played at the varsity level since the seventh grade, she has a bit more experience than the average sophomore. Adams averaged 12.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and two steals a contest last season and similar – or even better – numbers will once again establish St. Joseph’s Catholic as a team to be reckoned with among the 3A field.

Adams finished her 2025 grassroots season in Pennsylvania at the Under Armour Rise finals. Her team finished 4-2 in the Keystone State in large because of Adams’ play. When guarding the rising star from 3A St. Joseph’s Catholic, the main thing one has to look out for is her ability to make 3-pointers. Adams also knows when to score and when to pass and has no issues setting up her teammates to make plays given how gifted a ball distributor she is. Handles are another plus to her game and she is taller than many guards at 5-foot-10. Adams has played at the varsity level since she was a seventh grader and averaged 12.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and two steals a contest for the Knights who were 3A Upper State finalists last season.

Anyone who has seen Adams play over the years can certainly come to the conclusion that while she may be a 2028 she is more than worthy of testing her skills against more experienced competition. It is one thing to be a one or a two guard – it is entirely another to be a one or a two who stands at 5-foot-10. Add in her proficient ability to drain her attempts from 3-point range and Adams is particularly difficult to game plan against. She seamlessly fuses together long-range shooting abilities with ball handling skills. St. Joseph’s Catholic was a 3A Upper State finalist last season in large part because it is one of the premier 3-point shooting teams in the state and one can expect that to continue in the 2025-26 season.

Evie was one of the youngest players on the 17U level, but it didn’t show one bit. The lefty can hit the runner and the pull-up at a high clip. She knows when to push it in transition, how to track the ball off the rim, and also moves really well without the ball in her hands. One of the best 2028’s I’ve seen this summer.

St. Joseph’s Catholic may have lost in a heartbreaker to Region 2-AAA foe Southside Christian, but Adams did what she could – and then some – to get her Knights in the win column. The 5-foot-10 freshman led all scorers with 17 points. Much of her production came from behind the 3-point line. Adams connected on four of the six triples that the team had on Tuesday. Adams may be young, but she has emerged as a leader for this St. Joseph’s Catholic team. She gives a team worthwhile minutes from either of the guard spots in the backcourt. Adams has more experience than the typical 2028 as she has played at the varsity level with the Knights since she was a seventh grader.
