The Newell-Fonda Mustangs have another killer coming to their Varsity back court this Winter in the form of CG, [player_tooltip player_id='880904' first='Ellie' last='Sievers']. Sievers can be moved around the perimeter and be efficient at every position she is placed at. She has a fundamental game, that thrives on simple but a quick play-style. She can beat her initial defender off of the dribble, being able to finish in a number of different ways offensively. She is also a good passer and creator off the dribble at about the same rate as her scoring ability. Defensively, she is just as good. She will produce this Winter in a few different ways if she has anything to say about it.

[player_tooltip player_id='957840' first='Savanna' last='Wright'] is coming off of an AAU season with her [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'] program and she is looking to step up early on in her career to make an impact with her Mount Vernon Mustangs group. The Mustangs will return all of their producers and role players from a year ago, so they are looking to have one of their best seasons on record in a long time. I'm not sure if that will lead to Wright seeing any time this Winter but she will definitely play up in some aspect. Her handling ability, her fast and quick movement, combined with her tenacious attitude, will be a recipe for success, whenever she gets the opportunity to prove herself.

[player_tooltip player_id='985182' first='Addison' last='Mauer'] is a 2028 out of Iowa to watch this season because of the intangibles she brings to the floor with her. Every time she laces up her kicks, she locks in mentally and focuses on the little things. Those little things add up to make big things in the end and that's where she makes her mark. I've mentioned Treynor High School recently because they always put together great seasons as a whole and I expect this Winter to be no different. They will have 2 or 3 prospects coming in from the 2028 Class that could be collegiate level prospects before you know it. If they incorporate that into their well oiled systems, they should continue to shine like we anticipate. Mauer included in that conversation.

Someone that is going to take the state of Iowa by storm the next fours years is [player_tooltip player_id='880906' first='Kalyn' last='Scamman'] of Shenandoah High School. Scamman is a longer Point Guard at 5'9, that can also play and produce off the ball at a steady rate. Whenever a prospect is coming into high school, it can take them time to find themselves but I do not think that will be the case here. Scamman played up an age level on the 3SSB Circuit this Spring/Summer and that is going to have her ready for this challenge of Varsity ball. If she plays to her strengths and understands she can be the best prospect on the floor at all times, she could end up as a top 2028 in the state of Iowa down the road.

Davenport North is another program that is going to return their major pieces once again this season so anyone coming into their program is going to have to find their place early if they want to see the Varsity floor. Someone that falls into that category, that has shown one promise the past six months is [player_tooltip player_id='915896' first='Isla' last='Marti']. Marti will join the Wildcats as a Freshman this Winter and I'm not sure if she will see the Varsity floor right away but I wouldn't be shocked if she does. Overall, Marti is a competitor. She loves to leave it all out on the floor with her effort and she has solid coordination as well. Two things that are going to fair in her favor in the long run.
