Saturday, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana held its first ever Sophomore ID Camp to help identify and showcase several of the state's top Sophomores. With 84 prospects from the 2027 class in attendance, this provided an opportunity to see them compete head-to-head, as well as together, in a combination of 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games. Below is a look at seven additional forwards & posts who I felt stood out when I had the chance to see them. We will have additional articles later this week highlighting every prospect who was in attendance.

Isabelle put herself on our radar last Fall at our Freshman Showcase, and she was back this year, a couple of inches taller, stronger, more athletic, and more skillful. She has turned herself into a really nice wing/forward prospect who can do a variety of things on the court. She has the size to play in the mid-post, defend the interior, and rebound effectively. At the same time, she is a talented athlete, she has the ability to put the ball on the floor and create, plus she can sit down and defend. As her perimeter jumper becomes more consistent, watch out!

Cayleigh stood out to me almost immediately because of her relentless motor at her size. She is a big, strong, powerful, broad-shouldered post prospect who isn't afraid to create contact. At the same time, she runs the floor hard, boxes out with physicality, and even dives on the floor and does a lot of the little things. She showed a little skill offensively, but I saw a guard dominated game, so I'll be curious to see what she can do with a dozen touches per game. She adds to an already deep and talented Warsaw roster this Winter.

My day was starting to wind down when Taylor caught my attention. She has athletic talent, length, a wiry-strong frame, and bounce. She was very active in the game I saw, all over the boards, constantly in the right place defensively, and attacking the basket for interior scores. Eastside has some really good guard play right now, so Taylor could push double-double status at times because of her nose for the ball. I need to see more of her, but my first impression is that she could be a really nice inside-out forward prospect.

I saw Elyssa during the June scholastic live period, and I felt like she had a lot of potential. Watching her for a second time Saturday, she was very impactful. She rebounded at both ends, but it was her offensive rebounding that stood out, because she kept possessions alive for her team. She sought contact and posted hard, and when she caught the ball, she either made an immediate move to the rim, or she turned and knocked down a tough jumper over the defender. As she continues to build skill, she has the talent to play outside.

The colleges who like prospects with size, skill, and toughness will surely like Ellie quite a bit, and she still has three seasons left to play. Ellie has broad shoulders, nice strength, and she isn't afraid to be physical or post inside. At the same time, Ellie is skilled around the perimeter, she can push the ball North/South in transition a little, plus she has some touch around the perimeter. She could be a real matchup problem for Indian Creek opponents the next three years. Look for her to make an impact this Winter.

I saw Claudia for the first time this July, and she was even better when I saw her this past Saturday. She has length, a wiry-strong, athletic frame, and she runs & jumps fairly well in most directions. She is very active around the lane, she pursues rebounds outside of her area, plus she will attack the basket off the dribble. But Saturday I saw her bury a couple of jumpers outside, and it looked smooth and comfortable. Adding that to her game should make her a real problem to defend, because she's already an effective mid-post scorer.

I saw Emily briefly during the Summer of 2023, and then again this Spring, but she really stood out to me with her Zionsville team during the June scholastic live period and has been very intriguing ever since. She is extremely long and wiry, fluid, almost smooth, and even somewhat bouncy. She has nice touch to the 3-point line, she can put it on the floor a little, and she is athletic enough that once she tightens her skillset a bit, she has the potential to become a tall wing. The next step is defending wings and guards consistently.
