Layla, a guard for the Goonies, turned in an impressive all-around performance during the morning session of MI College Tour II – Wayne State. She was strong on the glass for her position, consistently tracking down rebounds, and showcased her athleticism by recording blocks against bigger players. Offensively, she stretched the floor with her perimeter shooting and displayed a smooth pull-up jumper. Defensively, she was active and disruptive, coming away with multiple steals that she turned into fast-break opportunities—either pushing it end-to-end herself or setting up teammates with well-timed passes for easy scores.

Layla is an athletic guard with length and quickness off the dribble that catches your attention in a hurry. She creates driving lanes with her crossovers, gets downhill, and has the physical strength to score through contact. Layla battled in the paint for offensive rebounds, scored putbacks, and slashed to the basket for layups. She moved well laterally to keep the ball in front of her and was one of the most productive two-way players on the court for Michigan Goonies 17U E40 during the PGH MI College Tour.

Layla had an impressive showing on Saturday at The Smoke, making a big impact for the Goonies. The skilled guard showed off her touch around the basket, finishing smoothly with either hand and using crafty footwork to create space. One highlight play saw her score with a slick move at the rim, then immediately grab a steal on the inbound. She pushed the pace in transition and brought consistent energy, constantly creating momentum for her team.

Layla made a great impression using her athleticism and dynamic driving abilities at R4TR with Michigan Goonies E40 last year–she showed those qualities again for Romeo this season. Layla demonstrated her multidimensional impact during a double-double performance vs. Grosse Pointe South. She produced 13 points, 12 rebounds, and snagged seven steals. Layla crossed over a defender, accelerated toward the rim, and quickly transferred the ball to her right hand for a soft layup off the glass. She knocks down triples using a smooth step-back dribble and causes turnovers with her pesky defense. Layla will be a guard to watch for the Goonies this spring.

Layla grabbed our attention with her explosive downhill drives, physicality rebounding in the paint, and shifty combination dribble moves. She has the athletic profile college coaches seek in a guard, and her defensive discipline makes her an outstanding two-way player. Layla will be an exciting prospect to watch this winter at Romeo.
