I saw Akiera for the first time last Summer, and she has some tools to work with long-term. She is long, wiry-strong, and a solid North/South athlete. In fact, she has some speed and can often outrun her matchups in transition. She looks like she is learning post play and is putting together an array of moves on the block; she just needs to keep becoming more instinctual down there. Defensively, she can alter/block shots consistently, and she plays with nice effort. While she needs a little work, I think she has a lot of small college upside.

Akiera popped up on my radar this Spring & Summer, and she is an intriguing prospect whose best years are in front of her. She is long, wiry-strong, and fairly athletic in most directions. She is best as a rebounder/defender at this time, but she will flash some touch in the mid-range game, and she likes to try to put it on the floor from the perimeter as well. As she continues developing her skillset, she could become a problem for opponents.
