About Alayna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I enjoy playmaking, with a focus on making all my teammates on the court better, strong court awareness, and great handling of the ball. Loving the tough drive to the hoop. I also thoroughly enjoy working hard on defense, and taking the challenge of the opposing team’s best offensive player!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Leadership mentality, effective communication first, grit!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Student Council Representative 2023-2024, advanced math student, and ELA student of the year for my team in 2024-2025 school year. Also was a Clarkston Area Youth Award winner, 2023.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Raised $500 from my small bake sale for Maui Fire Relief, and Raised $1,000 for the victims of the Texas Kerr County flood. A member at St. Daniel Catholic Community Faith Formation, and looking to start FCA at my Jr. High.

Alayna stood out because of her court vision, passing precision, high motor, skilled ball-handling, and fancy footwork around the basket. One of her highlight plays was when she cut off a drive on defense with her quick feet, swiped the ball away for a steal, pushed it the length of the court with pace, and switched the ball to her left to sink a tough, contested floater. Alayna used dynamic low-crossover dribbles to penetrate gaps and delivered a sweet lob pass on the money for an assist after a spin move. Alayna deflected a shot after a hard closeout and dished great passes to teammates with her eyes up in transition. She poured in four points, while adding multiple rebounds, steals, and assists. Alayna will be an exciting addition to the high school program at Clarkston.
