About Amarea

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is team first. As the point guard of our team, I look to make the best decisions by looking for my teammate first. I pass first & when the time is needed, I am able to contribute when we need it. I have a very competitive attitude and have high expectations of myself and our team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a very competitive spirit, hard work ethic & I try never to cheat the game. I have a few quirks that I’m working on ,but I try to always have a positive attitude & smile on my face.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

o PRIDE School Award (Respect Others, Respect Yourself, Respect The Environment (3X)

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Watching basketball film is a skill I developed early. Whether I am trying to correct errors that I've made, scouting an opponent or ways to get better, watching film is very important. Another skill that is important to me is communication. I think it's important that a team talks to each & builds team chemistry. Lastly, positive touches & team compassion. Uplifting my teammates when I can.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the most significant challenges that I continue to work through is being able to control my emotions. My competitive spirit can sometimes get the best of me and I am trying to learn different ways to harness my emotions and not let it affect my game.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that has a team chemistry culture where I can continue to develop & grow as a student athlete. I would like a college that is transparent about there school & program. I'm looking for a program that will value & utilize my basketball IQ & skill.
