Samaniego may be small in stature, but she played much bigger than her size at the Sophomore ID Camp on Sunday. She kept the offense flowing, didn’t over-dribble and consistently made quick, decisive plays. When her feet were set, she was an above-average shooter from beyond the arc, repeatedly finding nothing but net on catch-and-shoot opportunities. Samaniego represented both MN Diamond Elite and Roseville Area High School extremely well with her grit, confidence and tough-as-nails approach to the game.

Samaniego embodies everything you want in a small guard – fearless, hardworking, and highly skilled. She understands that at her size, she has to outwork her opponent and excel in three key areas: defending, knocking down open shots, and breaking down the defense to create for teammates. Check, check, and check. She’s lights out from beyond the arc, and when chased off the line, she showed the ability to get into the lane and generate opportunities. With her relentless work ethic and versatile skill set, her future feels wide open — anything is possible.
