Expert Analysis
Ally McGinnis | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Last winter we saw George get plenty of run time at Roseville, averaging 5.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Standing at 5’10, Peyton is a strong, physical presence in the paint who uses her size to create space for herself in the post. From the block, the Raiders junior excels at battling for rebounds, backing down opponents in the paint, or finding kick-out passes to the shooters waiting on the perimeter. While she isn’t necessarily going to be the star of the show, Peyton is likely to carry a bigger offensive load this season due to the graduation of sharp-shooters Mira Jackson and Maddie Sundberg. She comes in at #154.

Definitely an under-the-radar post prospect, George did plenty of things well at The Expo. Standing at 5’10 with a strong, powerful frame, Peyton excels at positioning herself on the block. She knows where to be and is able to pin defenders on her back with ease. Once the ball was in her hands, the Roseville junior made good reads, usually finishing at the rim with a simple drop-step or finding an open teammate with a well-timed kickout pass. Another area where George shined was in her rebounding. With the ability to physically dominate her opponents in the post, she controlled the glass for Team 4 all afternoon. Already a consistent contributor at the varsity level, Peyton is expected to play a key role for the Raiders this season.

(who had an exceptionally good day at the Freshman Showcase) are next up for the Raiders in the paint. Peyton appeared in four varsity games last winter but figures to play a much bigger role this time around. She has a big body, is pretty aggressive and is a solid rebounder. She has nice touch around the rim and knows how to finish. It will be interesting to see where she is in a year or two.
