About Amelia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile player who is able to naturally read and anticipate the game around me. This enables me to pass smartly and create scoring opportunities for my teammates, as well as play aggressively under the hoop.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a high-energy player, who is able to encourage others through adversity. Resilient and forward-focused, I am most motivated when confronting a challenge and seeking a solution.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a youth band worship leader and serve on the leadership team for my church's youth program.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I had the privilege of serving as varsity captain my junior year and am seen as a leader on my team. I value community and making other's feel seen and appreciated for their unique role in any team environment. I have been a youth worship leader for the past two years and was invited to serve on the leadership team for our large faith-based youth group.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I suffered a severe concussion prior to my freshman year. Physically, I had to push through a loss of stamina and the need to adjust my game and play smart. Mentally, I had challenges with memory and focus in school, as well as overcoming fear of contact in my game play. All of these ultimately made me a better player and student and taught me invaluable lessons in resilience and grit.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a small-medium sized school with a strong sense of community. I would also love a school where faith is highly valued.
