I got a good look at Amelia at The Classic. She demonstrated solid footwork and the ability to operate from the high post. She has soft hands and does a great job catching entry passes down low. A forward with developing perimeter skills, she has the size and skill set to be a college-level player.

Because Sacred Heart is so loaded, we may not see Johnson play a ton of varsity any time soon. When she does get to that level, expect Amelia to be an even better version of what I saw on Saturday. She’s strong with good size and showed some ball skills and basketball IQ. File her name away as one to remember for the future.

Amelia did a great job putting her head down and getting to the rim. She’s a strong finisher through contact and converts at a high percentage around the basket. She also crashed the glass and never shied away from doing the dirty work on the boards.

Amelia Johnson has great size at 5’11” and a strong, solid frame that allows her to be a force on both ends of the floor. She converts at a high rate in the paint, using solid footwork and the ability to score with either hand around the rim. Amelia is hard to stop when she gets downhill and has no problem finishing through contact. She can protect the rim, rebound, and has shown that she can step out and hit perimeter shots.
