About Se’Rae
Expert Analysis
Akeem Webb | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Se’Rae showed no fear and stepped up in a big way in her first appearance in a state tournament game. She played lockdown defense on the perimeter and exuded confidence on the offensive end throughout the game. Her shot was on target from both the mid-range and beyond the arc, showing clear improvement as a shooter. She also had several strong finishes at the rim and displayed good court vision, including a nice penetration and dish for an assist late in the third quarter.

Se’Rae is one of the best on-ball defenders in the state, regardless of class or position. She thrives in transition, using her elite speed to go north to south in a hurry or to get penetration off the dribble to get into the lane and toss up floaters, finish at the rim, or set up her teammates. Her D1 potential is evident as she received an offer from West Georgia last month. After a strong summer with Midwest Elite Meanstreets 16U on the EYBL Circuit, she will now be taking her talents to the Under Armour Circuit, suiting up with WV Thunder next AAU season.

Se’Rae had one of the best performances I saw all day in a high-level matchup against reigning Division I Ohio state champs, Pickerington Central. She was explosive off the bounce and looked unguardable at times, constantly breaking down the defense and getting into the lane. Her ability to penetrate and create for others was on full display, as she dropped several dimes that put her teammates in great scoring position. Loved the aggressiveness and competitive spirit she showed today.

Se’Rae is an athletic lead guard with elite speed and explosive quickness that allows her to blow by defenders and get to the rim with ease. She plays with intensity and brings unmatched energy every time she steps on the floor. Offensively, she keeps defenses on their heels, constantly pushing the pace and making plays. Her calling card, though, is on the defensive end. Se’Rae is one of the best perimeter defenders in the class. She is tenacious and makes opposing guards miserable with her immense ball pressure. She’s playing up this AAU season with Midwest Elite Meanstreets 16U on the EYBL circuit, continuing to sharpen her game against high-level competition.

Don’t sleep on Se’Rae! and if you blink she might just blow right past you that’s how quick she is off the dribble! She can legit get anywhere she wants; the best athlete I saw compete today hands down. Oh, and lets not forget her lockdown defense. She put the clamps on opposing ball handlers all day! I see why she was playing up for the Lady Gym Rats 17U EYBL squad this summer.

Se’Rae was a nice find by the Gym Rats this Spring, and despite her size, she is strong, quick, fast, and feisty. She was so good at times, that she has earned a “promotion” from the 15U EYBL team to the 17U EYBL team for July. Friday she was extremely active in what time she saw, digging into opposing guards and causing turnovers, aggressively pushing it in transition, finding open teammates, and not once really looking intimidated or overwhelmed. She’ll be one to follow in 2028.

Se’Rae might be related to the Energizer Bunny, because she is just nonstop in any and all directions. She is strong for her height, tough-nosed, and aggressive at both ends of the floor. Offensively, she loves to attack the basket and score or find open teammates. Defensively, she can pick up full-court and hound opposing ball-handlers. If you get past her size, she is extremely fun to watch.

Se’Rae made an impact on both ends when she was on floor. She played stifling defense on the perimeter and came up with steals that led to fast break buckets the other way. She is very quick off the dribble and can handle the ball really well. Se’Rae played fearless, had some strong finishes at the rim, and did a good job getting others involved.
