Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Veronica turned in an impressive morning and consistently operated at a high level for Kentuckiana Hoops 17U E40 throughout day one of the PGH Great Lakes Region Finals. She ripped the ball on a drive by then dropped in a soft floater, pushed the ball up the court with pace using both hands in transition, and dished out several assists. Veronica’s pressure and quick hands created steals on the perimeter and resulted in transition points for the team. She drove hard to the basket to score layups in traffic, finished effectively off two feet, and earned trips to the free throw line. Veronica worked hard an maneuvered into position to grab offensive rebounds.

Veronica is always fun to watch because of the two-way impact she brings to the floor. She loves to play up-tempo and is electric in the open floor, often grabbing a rebound and going coast-to-coast with it. She also impacts the game defensively with her ball pressure and ability to guard 94 feet.

Veronica is a two-way guard you’ll be hearing plenty about as her career progresses. Naturally aggressive on offense, she can deliver from anywhere on the floor, thrives in an up-tempo style, and is a crafty finisher at the rim. On the defensive end, she brings energy and is always active, making her presence felt. From what I saw over the spring and summer, Veronica continues to elevate her game and is poised to play a key role for Assumption as a sophomore.

Veronica was electric on the floor; using her quickness and tight handle to get wherever she wanted off the dribble. She stayed in attack mode all game, getting to the rim repeatedly and putting constant pressure on the defense. Veronica pushed the tempo and added some flair in the open court, including a smooth behind-the-back move in stride that led to a crafty layup. Also very feisty and scrappy on the defensive end.
