The Milwaukee native is a guard who can make plays on both ends of the floor. She competes whenever she’s on the floor and plays with a chip on her shoulder. Allen is capable of scoring 20 on any given night and going on a personal scoring run to win her team a game. However, she’s also a willing passer who can get her teammates open looks at the basket within the flow of her team’s offense.

The Milwaukee native is a talented kid who was comfortable asking questions about how coaches wanted things done and listened well. I thought she learned quickly and adapted well to her surroundings. I thought she balanced her game well in the 5v5 portion and showed her passing, which I feel may be slightly underrated. Overall, I thought she was one of the kids who looked most comfortable creating for others in the 5v5 work.

The Milwaukee native is a versatile guard who can create with the ball in her hands and make reads, and someone who doesn’t hesitate when there’s an opportunity to score. Allen sees the floor well and has an excellent feel for the game offensively. She can pass through traffic, score from all three levels, and flip a game in a hurry. Allen has also never shied away from a challenge defensively and will look to disrupt an opposing offense at the point of attack.

The Milwaukee Academy of Science backcourt has traditionally been one of the better backcourts in the state since I’ve been around, and Allen will continue that tradition of high-level guard play. Allen is a threat to knock down shots and power her way to the rim. She’s a physical kid, and as a secondary option, Allen got three free throws per game, which tells me she’s looking to attack when the ball is in her hands. I loved what I saw from her this summer. Allen has a bright future in the Novas’ backcourt.

One of the players I was looking forward to seeing at Summer Jam was Ariell Allen Ariell Allen 5'7" | SF Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2027 State WI . I’m unsure where she was, but unfortunately, it wasn’t in Minnesota. Allen showed some positive traits in her first season at MAS and looked like she belongs playing up in the 17U age level this summer with Playground Elite. She can do a little of everything and is a kid I’ve thought highly of whenever I’ve seen her this summer. Allen will be a name to watch over the next few years.
