Ashlyn Black Ashlyn Black 5'8" | SF North Lincoln | 2027 State NC was doing so well getting the ball on defense like a rebound and finding her open teammate up the court as she pushed the tempo the other direction.  She had a tough take to the basket banking it off the glass.  She was making remarkable adjustments at the rim to get some points.  Her tough takes at the basket showed her versatility using power dribbles and banking in her shots.

She was another from the starting five for North Lincoln that gave her team solid minutes.  She would play nearly 20 minutes and added 10 points to the Knights’ total. Black also grabbed seven rebounds in a contest where the rebounding was virtually even between Knights and Stallions. Black may have fouled out in the fourth quarter, but she was one that Southeast Alamance did not want to foul considering she was true on all four of her attempts from the charity stripe. Black is another of the seven juniors on this year’s North Lincoln team and her ability to play either the two or the three means she can be effective from the wing. 

Ashlyn Black Ashlyn Black 5'8" | SF North Lincoln | 2027 State NC showed off her range shooting the ball, too.  She had some tough takes to the basket taking advantage of her speed and long strides getting to the rim.  She runs the floor well being ready to get the loose possession or go to work on a fast break filling in open lanes getting ready for the pass.  She had a nice step back move hitting her jumper at the elbow.

A true competitor on the court. She plays both sides of the ball at a high level. She applies a lot of pressure on the opposing team which causes them to turn the ball over. Her effort on loose balls and deflections diving all over the court normally leads into a steal for Ashlyn and transition points for her or her team. She is a solid all-around player on offense being able to score around the rim or stepping back behind the three-point line and knocking down triples.

Ashlyn Black Ashlyn Black 5'8" | SF North Lincoln | 2027 State NC is a crafty player being a ball hawk gaining the possession on defense by jumping in front of passing lanes and diving after loose balls.  Her steals quickly turn to fast breaks going the other end knowing how to create some space.  She can knock down shots from deep with ease, and she’s tough attacking the basket going up against anyone who tries to stand in her way.

Ashlyn Black Ashlyn Black 5'8" | SF North Lincoln | 2027 State NC used her jab step to create some space knocking down the jumper and hitting her three point shot.  She does well adjusting to the personnel on the court knowing when her team needs her to handle the ball or slide to the shooting guard position.  She’s versatile even handling herself for some tough contact on the block.

Ashlyn Black Ashlyn Black 5'8" | SF North Lincoln | 2027 State NC did a nice job seeing her own open lanes taking a defensive rebound coast to coast scoring on the fast break.  She turned right around to grab another rebound and hit her teammate in transition for some more points.  She’s great on defense reading her opponents and finding ways to get the ball back on the other end.

Ashlyn Black Ashlyn Black 5'8" | SF North Lincoln | 2027 State NC was using her height inside getting rebounds and going up strong for her points.  She got lost by her defenders whether she was on the perimeter or sneaking down to the block.  She anticipated passes on defense grabbing the steal on the full court press and putting it right back up.  Her tough takes earned her some opportunities for extra points after the makes.

Ashlyn Black Ashlyn Black 5'8" | SF North Lincoln | 2027 State NC is a special athlete who displays speed, strength, and skill on the court for the Carolina Flames . She can attack the rim and finish with power several times per game. In transition, Black runs hard. She can beat the other team down the floor because of her effort in the open floor. On defense, Black is a disrupter. She has a high basketball IQ and is an exceptional on-ball defender.
