In their first year of high school basketball, the 2029 class had many players who stood out, especially at the point guard position. Here are five PGs who could keep their talent trending in an upward trajectory over the summer hoops season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1252913' first='Alex' last='Bolden'] had an extremely impressive first season of high school basketball.

Two areas of Bolden's game that stand out are her perimeter shooting and her passing. Bolden has a lethal jumper from the outside. She is especially good at catch-and-shoot actions.

On the dribble, Bolden is an amazing passer. She is an accurate passer from the perimeter and in the paint when she drives in. When she drives to the basket and help defenders shift over, Bolden can read their movement and find open teammates for shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='902349' first='Ryleigh' last='Clayton'] is already having a good start to her summer hoops season.

In a recent tournament, Clayton's whole skillset was on display. The number one thing that jumps out about her is her effort. On defense their is never a moment she is not engaged. She is locked in and is not afraid to pick up and defend full court. Her speed allows her to do this, and her persistent defense often generates mistakes from her opponent.

Clayton's speed on defense is also seen on the offensive side of the ball when she is dribbling. She is always pushing the pace, looking to find a way to get a bucket, whether it be herself or by passing to an open teammate. Clayton, in a recent tournament, also made several threes. She has a fairly quick shot that allows her to stop on a dime and convert perimeter shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1311805' first='Ellie' last='Gunter'] has a physical playstyle for a point guard, and it is effective.

Gunter can score through and dribble through contact. It does not phase her whatsoever. She can also play through contact when it comes to rebounding. She doesn't care if a player is a foot taller than her in the paint; she is gonna fight for a rebound. In a game this school season against Oakdale High School, Gunter had a double-double. She scored 16 points and had 10 rebounds in the game.

Gunter also has a great 3-point jumper. This past school season, she had multiple games with two or more made 3-pointers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1322593' first='Javeah' last='Myricks'] is an elite on-ball defender.

Myricks, in her freshman season with Notre Dame High School, was getting steals in games regularly. Myricks, with the pressure she creates on her defensive assignment, often forces them to pick up their dribble. After this happens, Myricks then does a good job at blocking the number one pass option for her opponent. These scenarios often end with Myricks picking off a pass in the passing lane and starting a fast break. In a game against Silverdale Baptist Academy this season, Myricks recorded seven steals.

Myricks also excels in fast-break scenarios. She has great vertical speed and can score layups more than comfortably with both her dominant and non-dominant shooting hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='1252921' first='Ava' last='Trudeau'] showed great potential in her freshman season with Independence High School.

Trudeau displayed the potential ability to guard positions 1-4. She is quick enough to do so and has the height to do so. Her lateral foot speed especially stands out when defending on the perimeter. Guards have a difficult time getting around her.

On offense, Trudeau's 3-point shot continually gets better with every game she plays. In a recent summer tournament game, she played against the NJ Scoreshots she made four 3-pointers. All four makes were off catch and shot actions. She did not hesitate on any of them. Trudeau also has a high relase point on her jumper that makes it hard for opposing players to affect her shot, especially guards.
