About Ava
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I play with a focused, locked in mindset and try to stay calm no matter what’s happening in the game. I like attacking the paint and being aggressive when I see an opportunity to get to the basket. I’m not really someone who shows a lot of emotion on the court , I let my game speak for itself. I focus on making the right plays, playing hard every possession, and staying humble while doing what I
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I’ve chosen to stick with one sport so I can really focus on getting better and take care of my body instead of risking injuries from overworking my body. I like being able to put all my time and energy into improving my game. Outside of sports , I’ve made A-B Honor Roll and been named Student of the Month. I try my best to be consistent and do my best both on the court and in the classroom.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I’d say I’m pretty laid back and fun to be around off the court , I like to joke around and keep things positive. Although when it’s time to play, I lock in and take things seriously. I try not to show my emotions during games because I don’t want to give away any weaknesses, so I stay focused and composed no matter the situation. I try balancing having a good personality with being disciplined an
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve grown a lot as a leader over time. I used to be more of a background player, just learning and observing, but as I got more confident, I started stepping up more. I try to be someone my teammates can count on, both on and off the court, because you never really know what someone else is going through, and everyone needs support sometimes. I also focus a lot on communicating and working well w
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
When I was younger one of my biggest challenges was comparing myself to other players and feeling like I just wasn’t as good as them. It seemed like skill came so naturally to them, and it made me doubt myself. Then as I kept working and staying consistent, I started to realize I was capable of playing at their level. I just needed to push myself more and believe in my abilities. That experience r
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a college that feels like the right fit for me, both as a student and as a player. I want to be part of a team and a community that’s positive and supportive, where people push each other to grow instead of creating a toxic environment. A strong education is really important to me, but I also want a place where the coaches and teammates communicate well, and everyone works together
