Allie was a dangerous perimeter shooter for Mystics P24 17U Saturday morning, and she continued to make an all-around impact throughout the day. She buried multiple corner threes with confidence, picked up an assist after making an extra pass to give a teammate a wide-open look, stripped the ball away with her quick hands, and sprinted back to pick off passes in transition. Allie guided St. Mary’s Prep to an 18-3 regular season record, going 10-0 in the CHSL West Division, including an appearance in the Bishop Tournament Championship Game. Head Coach Brad Crighton stated, “The impact she has on the game goes a lot further than just the stats. She controls both sides of the floor for us. Her ability to get her teammates the ball in scoring opportunities when teams are focused on her allows us to do so much on the offensive side. On defense, she is usually guarding the team’s best player or second-best player, depending on their position. We rely on her to do so much for us.” Through 20 games, Allie averaged 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, and four steals per game. Notable performances include: 25 points, five rebounds, four assists in a 61-39 win vs. Detroit Mumford; 23 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a 74-52 win vs. Birmingham Groves; 16 points, six assists, five steals in a 57-31 win vs. Regina; 16 points, six rebounds, five assists in a 54-22 win vs. Mercy. Allie is definitely a player I’d love to see at the Expo because of the complete skill set she brings to the backcourt. She has a creative handle that allows her to break down defenders, and she consistently finds ways to finish plays with touch and confidence around the rim. Add in her ability to step out and knock down shots from the perimeter, and she becomes a guard who is extremely difficult to slow down. Seeing her compete on this stage would be a great opportunity to watch her all-around game in action.

Crighton definitely made a statement, and it’s one she’s made repeatedly. My guess is that we can put this on repeat. The young star can flat out shoot and score and did so with the ?Michigan Storm yet again. Screenshot this if you like, but by the time it’s all said and done, Crighton will be one of the best all around shooters in the state.

Crighton has been the talk of the town much of this spring. And for good reason. She’s continued her great play from high school season and shown that her ability to shoot and score is truly elite. Crighton does an excellent job of finding space, positioning, and repositioning as the ball moves.
