Baylor solidified her place in the top 15 of Michigan’s 2027 class and kept all her positive momentum rolling with a strong showing for Mystics 17U P24 at the PGH MI College Tour. Her offensive rebounding, facilitating, and defensive impact were crucial to the team’s success. She picked off passes, outworked opponents to grab many offensive rebounds, boxed out with a strong stance to secure rebounds on the defensive end, drained a straightaway triple, dished out assists, scored putbacks, and handled the ball with poise.

Baylor’s been contributing for Goodrich in every statistical category all year, and her two games at the Breslin Center were no different. In the semifinals against South Christian, she turned in a complete game with 13 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals to help Goodrich advance. She patiently surveyed the scene, drove by, got the angle, and finished off two. Baylor posted up a defender with her back to the basket and scored after using a drop step. She worked inside to score an offensive rebound put back, knocked down free throws, and dished out assists after penetrating off the dribble. In the State Championship Game, Baylor was a defensive stopper, posting 14 points, five rebounds, five steals, and three assists. Her backcourt pressure and anticipation hassled opposing guards, producing turnovers. She buried a corner three, dropped in a floater off two feet, and scored through contact for a tough and-one, then completed the three-point play at the line. Baylor’s complete performance in both games was crucial to securing the state title.

Baylor helped Goodrich finish the season with a perfect 22-0 record, leading the team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. After 24 games, Baylor is averaging 15.4 points (30% 3PT), 4.5 steals, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game. Her efficient 56% FG% is the team’s best, and she led the Martians in free throw attempts with 71. Baylor is assigned the task of defending the opposing team’s best player, and she shut down three top 20 prospects this season. Some of Baylor’s notable performances this season include: 17 points, 10 rebounds, five steals in a 61-39 win at Utica Eisenhower; 17 points in a 45-28 win vs. Stoney Creek; 18 points, seven assists, four steals in a 68-46 win vs. Parma Western; 21 points and seven rebounds during a 45-24 win at St. Mary’s Prep; 23 points and six assists in a 53-37 win at Saginaw Heritage; 30 points and nine steals in a 75-31 win at Corunna; 16 points in a 43-27 win at Frankenmuth; 22 points, seven steals, five assists in 62-22 win vs. Davison. Top prospects separate themselves on the court, and that’s exactly what Baylor did during Thursday’s win. She changed directions suddenly with a double-crossover, drove to the rim with a burst, and finished the layup. Baylor took a defensive rebound coast-to-coast, switching hands in transition, then finished with a graceful opposite-hand layup. She penetrated the defense constantly throughout the game, scored several layups, and dished out assists when help defenders rotated. Baylor has a compact, strong build, and she outmuscles opponents to get into scoring/rebounding position. She made smart backdoor cuts, caught passes on the move, and converted layups confidently using either hand without skipping a beat. Baylor swiped the ball away clean using her quick hands to score a breakaway bucket and pestered guards all night to rack up the steals. I appreciated her demonstration of sportsmanship by helping an opponent up off the floor. Baylor worked inside to score offensive rebound putbacks and led the Martians with 22 points in three quarters of action.

Baylor is a two-way guard whose lockdown defense, determined rebounding, tough drives/finishes, unselfish passes, and clutch playmaking make her very difficult for opposing backcourts to match up against. Her aggressive downhill style puts teams in foul trouble and Baylor wears out defenders on the offensive glass with her relentless pursuit of the ball. She can tilt the outcome in Goodrich’s favor with an elite performance on both ends.

Baylor was a difference maker in every phase for Goodrich at the LBI Mitten Opening. Her perimeter pressure created many steals. Baylor swiped the ball in helpside and turned on the burners to finish the breakaway layup. She buried a smooth wing three and scored a sweet layup using a high pick-up move. Baylor accelerated downhill on a drive, absorbed contact, and converted the acrobatic layup. She made a great bounce pass assist and penetrated the gap off the dribble for another layup.

Baylor has the compact strength, athleticism, grit, IQ, and all-around impact on the court that you want to see from a guard. Her defense, rebounding, dribble penetration, finishing, and facilitating consistently stands out. I watched Baylor compete at multiple elite camps alongside top talent and she kept stepping up. Baylor is clutch in big moments and she earned Northwood Team Camp MVP honors during the O.T. Tournament. She has D2 offers from Davenport and Northwood–I won’t be surprised to see more before all is said and done.

Baylor had another solid day at the SVSU Elite Camp. Her strong passes during the one-up drill were among the best in the group. Baylor forced the help to commit to her crossover dribble and dished a perfect pass to a cutting teammate for the assist during 3v3. She finished layups off the dribble through contact and cut backdoor for another one. Baylor continued to separate herself during 5v5. She used a hard rip move to score off two feet, finished an offensive rebound with a layup, scored another contested layup, and added a reverse. Baylor drove hard to the basket and dished a bounce pass on the money for the assist. She’s consistently been a top player in many events over the past several months.

Big time players step up in big moments. I had the opportunity to see Baylor get the job done in the Regional Finals last year (game winner), and she did it again for Goodrich at Northwood Team Camp. The OT tourney challenges the poise of each team in a three-minute winner moves on scenario. Goodrich handled the pressure and enjoyed the spoils of victory–championship t-shirts! Throughout the tournament, Baylor was clutch for the Martians. She played great defense, won battles for rebounds, handled the ball with poise, and delivered timely buckets. Baylor grabbed the bull by the horns in the finals, scoring a straight line drive and converting four clutch free throws. She earned recognition as the Northwood Team Camp #1 OT Tournament MVP. Against elite teams at camp, Baylor made her presence felt on both ends of the court. She drove hard downhill, spun quickly, and scored a tough contested layup. Baylor chased down the ball and deflected it away from behind. She used an excellent pivot to score a layup and earned style points when she snagged an offensive rebound, then finished the putback with an athletic reverse layup.

Baylor had a fantastic sophomore campaign for the Goodrich Martians, averaging 11.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 3.6 steals per game. She shot the ball efficiently with a 59.2 EFG% and handled the ball with care–2.88 Ast/TO ratio. Baylor played the closer role by scoring the game-winning layup for the Martians during their Regional Final victory vs. Haslett. She is a compact/athletic slasher with good court vision and hawk-like instincts on the defensive end. Baylor is a great addition to the Mystics 2027-P24 this spring.
