I was able to see Maupin a couple times during the 2026 season. I am convinced she is not close to reaching her potential. The two-time Sunflower League honorable mention selection has long been known as a point guard who is fast with the ball, pushes temp off the possession change and is a good spot-up shooter. A willing, physical defender I will be looking for composure to stay out of foul trouble. On the offensive end what I most want to see from Maupin is a consistent ability to set herself up for a scoring opportunity from a wing catch on the wing. She has a tendency to not make that decision until after making the catch. Improving in that area will shave up to two seconds of time, enabling her quickness and ball skills to especially blitz defenders closing out on her.

Broke did a great job handling pressure in this game, showing her ability to control the pace and facilitate the offense. She consistently delivered the ball where and when it was needed, while also recognizing and taking advantage of her own offensive opportunities. Maupin also showcased her ability to stretch the floor, knocking down shots from long range throughout the game.

Maupin had me tweeting, “Don’t get shook by Brooke,” a few years ago, so seeing her elevate her game year after year has been nice. She did a good job setting the defender up to score off the dribble, slight HEZ or deceptive first step worked, but her court vision both off the dribble as well as in the set looked good. She also created her shot and dropped it while being defended

An already ballhandler rich Olathe South picked up another with Argyle (TX) transfer Brooke Maupin. She has taken over the starting point guard spot. My colleague Simmie Colson had her ranked #34 in the class. Defensively he liked her on-the-ball pressure. Offensively he commented that her first step has gotten quicker, she facilitates well, finishes in control off the dribble and that she continues to knock down pull-up jumpers.

Maupin had a chance to show me how “on the court” progression multiple times over the club season see evaluation here and I got an even better look as she was one of the standouts in both the “3 on 3” as well as “5 on 5” at the PGH Sophomore ID All-Showcase showing see evaluation here The thing about her game is that she can get hers in the flow, or simply take over a game offensively as she moves up 13 spots

Maupin had me smiling the first time I met her and watched her use the slight HEZ to make the defender fall. After the game I told her I would always be thinking “Don’t get shook by Brooke” yet she continues to shake things up in a variety of ways. In the 3 on 3, she facilitated nicely, showed her first step has gotten quicker and her quick hands got her some steals. Her “on the ball” pressure continued when the bright lights came on, but so did her pull-up jumper. That HEZ is still clicking, and so was her body control on her finishes off the dribble

Maupin made THE GLUE squad at the PGH Freshman Showcase and I mentioned she was one of the most skilled players at the event. Fast forward to now, her being heady and understanding how to run a team, control the tempo, and set teammates up for good looks is big, yet even bigger is whether she’s playing the 1 or 2, she can make things happen as the midrange is looking nice
