About Camya
Expert Analysis

Hutcherson is a playmaker that steps on the floor with confidence. This is the 2nd summer that I have had to coach against her and she always brings the energy. A player that continues to move without the basketball and never stops working on the defensive or offensive end. A player that can create her own shot and contort her body to finish through contact. A leader on both ends of the floor and can score from anywhere on the court. Her stock keeps rising each time she touches the floor.

Camya was not just the team’s leading scorer, but was integral in every aspect of the game as she guided her Lee County squad to a 4-0 record at GBCA Live and the Shootaway division championship. She averaged 18.5 points per contest and almost four three point shots made per game while also initiating and facilitating the offense for her team as the primary ball handler. Camya had a game high 19 points, including five three point shots made, in the win over Tri Cities. The next game against a very talented Bradwell Institute team, Hutcherson hit six three point shots while shooting 5-6 from the free throw line finishing the game with 27 points. I have seen her multiple times with Southeast United where she pairs beautifully with

. She will be a very good player in college and will have options to choose from as she currently holds offers from Reid State and Bishop State and will almost certainly add to that list before the end of the Summer.

Hutcherson impacts winning in a variety of ways. Her motor immediately jumps out because she competes relentlessly on both ends of the floor. Camya flies around defensively, generating deflections at the top of zones with her speed, anticipation and fast-twitch reactions. She constantly creates havoc with her activity and effort.
Hutcherson balances playmaking with elite shooting ability. She sees the floor well as a distributor and consistently makes smart reads with the ball in her hands, but her jump shot is what truly separates her. Camya is a legitimate knockdown shooter who wastes little time getting into her release. She’s extremely comfortable pulling up from the mid-range and equally dangerous from beyond the arc.

made her presence felt as a true scoring threat throughout the weekend, knocking down shots from the perimeter, producing at a high rate in transition, and showing creativity finishing through contact. She has a natural instinct for putting the ball in the basket and consistently finds ways to score at all three levels. At the same time, she was excellent at finding teammates, making the right reads, and delivering timely passes within the flow of the offense. Defensively, she was very active and repeatedly turned steals into points on the other end. Hutcherson impacted the game at all levels and was probably the most polished guard in the building.

Hutchison played with a high motor throughout the weekend, impacting both ends of the floor. Offensively, she showed the ability to score from three-point range and mid-range, while also attacking off the dribble and scoring through physical play. She did a good job of finding teammates when defenses shifted, particularly when others got into scoring rhythm. Defensively, she applied steady pressure in the backcourt, generating turnovers and disrupting offensive sets. Her willingness to pursue loose balls and stay engaged on possessions was impressive and showed she can impact the game in multiple ways.

It was great to see Camya for extended periods at both the point guard and shooting guard positions. She is relied on heavily for the majority of Lee County’s offensive production so she has the ball in her hands and is relied on to make plays almost every possession. Joined in the backcourt by

, Camya was able to play off the ball a lot more which gave her the freedom and space to show her ability to score off the dribble from 12-15 feet and at the rim. Hutcherson is one of the best shooters in Georgia without question, so it was good to see her showcase more of her offensive ability. I thought she was one of the best on ball defenders I saw all weekend turning steals into points for herself and teammates. She should be a highly sought after guard in the 2027 class in the southeast.

Camya took a big step forward in her development as a Junior, scoring her 1,000th point and being selected to both All State and All Region teams for Lee County. Hutcherson was excellent at She Got Game Classic at Lakepoint early in 2026 knocking down multiple shots from three with a hand in her face as well as getting to the basket and finishing at the rim. She is also a very capable midrange shooter. Camya handled her share of the point guard duties getting the ball up the court against pressure and then initiating the offense in the half court. She made several nice assists off the dribble drive when defenders chose to commit to her and help off their assignment. Hutcherson’s ability to shoot the ball combined with her very solid fundamentals, competitiveness, and intelligence should make her a desirable recruit in the junior class in Georgia.

Hutcherson managed to perform well in two games despite both teams having her circled at the top of the defensive scouting report. She was the primary ball handler and scorer for Lee County handling both responsibilities very well for her team. Hutcherson has a quick release on her jump shot and did a great job creating enough space to get it off around multiple defenders. She is a very skilled offensive player which was easy to see when the ball was in her hands. She handles the ball very well and is a very good passer. Despite being down big in both games, Hutcherson stayed positive, played hard, and impressed the spectators that were watching.

Terrific shooter does a little bit of everything at point guard. Sees the floor, hustles on defense and makes others around her better. Consistently nets threes and mid-range pull-ups. Explosive downhill on drives. Should be on D-II radars and possibly small D-I.

Hutcherson plays with nonstop energy, flying around defensively to create havoc. On offense, she’s a steady playmaker but her calling card is her perimeter shooting. A legitimate sniper from deep and the mid-range. D-II programs should be taking notice.
