Greeley County junior Charlize Shafer Charlize Shafer 5'6" | SG/PG Greeley County | 2028 KS brings varsity experience, athleticism and versatility to the Jackrabbits. During the 2026 volleyball season, Shafer recorded 357 assists, demonstrating her court awareness and ability to contribute to her team’s offensive production.

Shafer also qualified for the Kansas State Cross Country Championships this fall, adding another accomplishment to her multisport résumé. Her endurance and conditioning translate particularly well to the basketball court, where her defensive effort and ability to sustain pressure are valuable assets.

From a scouting perspective, Shafer’s defensive production is a defining strength of her game. Her activity, lateral quickness and willingness to pressure opposing players allow her to disrupt offensive possessions and create opportunities for the Jackrabbits. Offensively, her emerging perimeter shot adds another dimension to her game. As her shooting consistency develops, she has the potential to become a more complete two-way contributor.

Entering her junior basketball season in 2026–27, Shafer has two high school seasons remaining to continue developing her offensive skill set while building on her defensive strengths. Her combination of defensive intensity, endurance and improving outside shooting makes her a western Kansas prospect worth watching.
