Greeley County freshman Ellie Schneider Ellie Schneider PF/SF Greeley County | 2030 KS is already making an impact at the varsity level. Competing as a middle hitter, Schneider has recorded 96 kills and 23 total blocks during the 2026 volleyball season. Her blocking total ranks second on the Jackrabbits’ roster, an encouraging accomplishment for an athlete in her first year of high school competition.

Schneider’s production is especially interesting when considering the transition between volleyball and basketball. Both sports reward players who understand spacing, anticipate opponents’ movements and position themselves effectively. Her length and ability to challenge opponents at the net are particularly intriguing traits that could translate well to the basketball court.

From a basketball scouting perspective, Schneider’s length has the potential to provide the Greeley County Jackrabbits with an element they will sorely need in the coming years. Her ability to alter shots, disrupt passing lanes and establish a presence around the basket could become increasingly valuable as she continues to develop her game.

With her freshman basketball season still ahead of her, Schneider has four full high school basketball seasons to develop her skills, strength and understanding of the game. Her physical attributes and early varsity experience make her an intriguing young prospect with considerable room for growth.

Schneider is a young western Kansas player I would encourage basketball fans and scouts to keep an eye on in the years ahead.
