Greeley County sophomore Tylee Cavenee Tylee Cavenee 5'6" | SF Greeley County | 2029 KS has put together an impressive volleyball season, establishing herself as one of the Jackrabbits’ most productive all-around players.

Playing primarily as a middle hitter, Cavenee has recorded 290 kills and 341 digs, leading Greeley County in kills while ranking second on the team in digs.

Those numbers demonstrate an athlete capable of contributing in multiple phases of competition. Her offensive production highlights her role as an attacking presence, while her defensive statistics show she is far from a one-dimensional player.

From a basketball perspective, Cavenee’s volleyball responsibilities offer an interesting comparison to the physical and mental demands of playing in the frontcourt. Positioning, timing, lateral movement and the ability to transition quickly between offense and defense are important qualities in both sports.

Still early in her high school career, Cavenee has already demonstrated significant varsity production. Her development over the next several basketball seasons will be worth following.

Freshman standout Tylee Cavenee has made an immediate impact for Greeley County, helping power the Jackrabbits to the 1A Division I State Tournament with her athleticism, confidence, and energy. Cavenee has stepped into a leadership role well beyond her age, providing a spark on both ends of the floor — or in this case, both sides of the net.

Her ability to attack aggressively, adjust mid-play, and stay composed under pressure has made her a go-to hitter down the stretch. She brings that same competitiveness and motor to basketball, where she’s a promising young guard with strong instincts, quickness, and the ability to change momentum with hustle plays.

Cavenee’s upside is undeniable — a young, driven athlete whose skill, poise, and presence make her one of the brightest underclass prospects to watch in western Kansas.

Tylee Cavenee Tylee Cavenee 5'6" | SF Greeley County | 2029 KS , an incoming freshman at Greeley County and playing for Magic Basketball this summer, is a player I’ve had the privilege of watching develop over the years. At the 2025 Kansas Roots Summer Smash, her growth was evident—especially on the defensive end. While she may not have filled the stat sheet with steals or blocks, Cavanee was a constant disruptor in the passing lanes. She has great defensive IQ and anticipation allowed her to consistently deflect passes and force turnovers through pressure and positioning. With her length, instincts, and continued development, Cavanee is poised to make a significant impact in her high school career. She’s definitely a young prospect to watch in western Kansas.
