has been a steady, reliable presence throughout her career at CPU, and in CPU’s matchup vs. Independence it was more of the same. Despite her shot not falling Katcher made an impact throughout the game and showed leadership late in the fourth. She’s is a long guard who makes nice reads defensively — she knows when to shoot the passing lane, step across the lane in help side, and stay disciplined on wall-ups in the paint. On offense Katcher drew two defenders on drives for drop down passes and kick outs on multiple occasions, finishing the night with 6 dimes. She also navigated pick and rolls well as the primary ball-handler. One of my highlights from Katcher was her transition skip pass for a game-tying three late in the fourth.

AAU out of Cedar Rapids. The best part about Katcher’s game is that you know what you are going to get each time she takes the floor as a SG. She isn’t going to surprise you or become a random liability out of no where. She plays her own game to a T and that helps her see productivity on both sides of the ball. This is another prospect that should keep her natural role when she does get to the collegiate level. She should stick to being a SG but we will just have to wait and see.

received a shoutout this weekend in Milwaukee because of her play on the hardwood with her 17U Team Iowa
program out of Cedar Rapids. Katcher was a player of opportunity over the past couple of days. She was making the most of her opportunities will shooting the ball off the catch in both the mid-range and from deep, she demonstrated that she isn’t afraid to put the rock on the floor while trying to get to favorable sports offensively, and she competed with stingy defense on that side of the ball. Team Iowa
teaches things the right way and Katcher embodies that as a hooper.

has a solid motor, strong court vision, and good intuition while moving without the ball. Throughout the game I noticed Katcher catching her defender off-guard with a smart cut for an open look, including a curl cut through an open lane and a relocation for a kickout three in the second half. Katcher moves well and makes good decisions — if she is on the floor you can bet your offense will have the spacing it needs to execute. She also is more than capable of hitting the three ball, cashing in two on Friday night. Additionally I think Katcher brings length and athleticism defensively — she’s active on the ball and has a low stance. She stepped up to guard W-SR’s top players late in the second half and did a good job to make scores difficult.
