IL Soph ID Camp: Team 8 Evaluations

80+ prospects fit for every level of college basketball from across the great state of Illinois flooded the gym for a fully loaded day of 3v3 and 5v5 competition. The live coverage was off the hook, and the prospects gave us plenty of material to post about! Here's a snapshot of the strengths I observed from the players competing for Team Eight at the Prep Girls Hoops Sophomore ID Camp Showcase!    Fallon started the day with an impressive and-one scoop finish during the 3v3 segment at the PGH Illinois Sophomore ID Showcase. She's long, athletic, and her potential to develop into a solid next-level prospect pops out on the court. Fallon ran the floor well and showed the ability to shoot from the mid-range and outside.     Elizabeth fit right in with Team Eight at the PGH Illinois Sophomore ID Camp. She maintained good awareness on the defensive end and rotated over from the help side to contest a layup, forcing the miss. Elizabeth closed out hard to contest a perimeter shot, then snatched the defensive rebound. She demonstrated confidence with the ball under pressure, changing directions with between-the-legs and crossover dribbles. Elizabeth noticed an opening, cut quickly to the basket, caught the entry pass in stride, and finished the layup without missing a step.     Adelyn creates matchup problems with her size, muscular build, length, and fundamental skill set. She's perfectly capable as a stretch forward, but can also handle the rock confidently as a guard. Adelyn caught a pass in stride and made a nice transfer for the finish in transition. She battled in a crowd to secure an offensive rebound and was a force on the offensive glass throughout the day. She drove hard downhill to earn trips to the line, showed her range as a perimeter threat, kept her hands ative to create steals on defense, dished out accurate entry passes, scanned the court in transition, and facilitated the ball effectively to open teammates. Adelyn buried a smooth wing three during 3v3 and separated herself during games for Team Eight at the PGH Illinois Sophomore ID Camp.     Sidnee has some length and athleticism that makes her an intriguing guard prospect. She was active on the defensive end. Her scrappy on ball pressure and active hands created deflections. Sidnee wasn't afraid to dive on the floor to fight for 50/50 balls. She showed her outside range by sinking a wing jumper and wasn't afraid to shoot the three. Sidnee looked to make the extra pass and set good ball-screens to help create open driving lanes for teammates. She contributed in multiple ways for Team Eight at the PGH Sophomore ID Camp.     Davae had a very productive day for Team Eight at the PGH Sophomore ID Showcase. She's a quick, scrappy, shifty, and tough point guard prospect. Dave picked the ball-handlers pocket in the backcourt for a swipe and score, then went back to the well for another backcourt steal to earn a trip to the free throw line. She shoots with balance and a rhymic follow through at the line, which makes her extremely efficient. Davae knew when to kick the ball out to the perimeter as defenders committed to her dribble and made a great baseline pass for an assist. She caught a pass in stride for a layup and attacked open space on a determined drive to earn another trip to the line. Davae has quick hands on defense and a nice pull-up jumper. She's not afraid of contact.     Megan demonstrated all the qualities you want to have from your point guard during games for Team Eight at the PGH Illinois Sophomore ID Camp. Unselfish facilitator with outstanding court vision, proficiency from three, active rebounding, defense, and communication. She put extra English on a bounce pass to thread it through defenders and hit a sprinting teammate in stride for the assist. Megan talked and pointed on the defensive end. She moved her feet quickly laterally to cut off a drive and forced the turnover. Megan displayed leadership and energized others by giving out high fives. Megan showed off her range, sinking a smooth corner three, then added a deep wing three from way downtown. She penetrated off the dribble and kicked the ball out to get teammates open shots.     Elena has good length as a point guard and her instincts stood out with Team Eight at the PGH Illinois Sophomore ID Camp. She anticipated a pass in the gap, picked it off, and immediately started the fast break. Elena attacked downhill to score a bucket, shot the ball confidently from three, crashed inside to secure offensive rebounds, and threw a pass ahead on a rope for an assist after grabbing the defensive rebound. She worked hard on the defensive end. Her fast feet and quick lateral movement cut off a drive, then forced a dribble turnover.     Rylee made the effort plays for Team Eight at the PGH Sophomore ID Showcase. She hustled back in transition to stop the ball and forced her girl to pick up the dribble. Rylee read a shot well off the rim, and met the ball in the air to corral the rebound. She pursued multiple rebounds and wasn't afraid to shoot the three.
