Expert Analysis
BJ Batson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
McClain was one of the best shooters at the event. Whether it was from the wing, corner, or the top of the key, McClain hit a three from all five spots on the court. What was most impressive was her preparation to shoot the ball whether is coming off a down screen or baseline out of bounds play. McClain was locked in, knees bent, hands out, body squared to the basket waiting to catch the ball and shoot. She knew the ball was going in the basket on multiple shots when it left her hand. McClain has great size for her position and is a big part of why Bob Jones is such a great team.

Elise lit it up from three-point range on day one, there wasn’t a shot she didn’t like. She can shoot it off the dribble or off the catch, she also moves very well without the ball. She was at her best when she would come off of a screen then catch and shoot, it was an automatic bucket every time.

is a knockdown spot-up shooter, consistently converting opportunities from beyond the arc. Her textbook form and quick release allow her to get her shot off efficiently, making her a lethal weapon when left open on the perimeter. She understands how to find open spaces without the ball, demonstrating excellent court awareness to position herself for high-percentage looks.
What makes Elise’s spot-up shooting so effective is not just her accuracy, but also the pressure it puts on opposing defenses. Teams cannot afford to leave her unattended, as she will punish them from long range. This gravity forces defenders to stick to her, which in turn creates driving lanes and passing opportunities for her teammates.
Her consistent perimeter threat fundamentally alters the offensive landscape for her team.

Elise’s versatility made her case for making this First Team All-Tournament. Her length and skill stood out in every single game. She can shoot it with the best and didn’t need much time or space to get it off with a smooth stroke from outside. Elise also moved well without the ball and did a nice job of finding her teammates and getting them involved. The upside with Elise is real!

Elise was one of the best shooters in Columbus this weekend. She was knocking it down from anywhere on the perimeter, especially the corners. Her size and length are great for that 2/3 position, and she really didn’t need a lot of space to get her shot off. Elise’s versatility make her a solid prospect for college’s to target.
