Elizabeth fit right in with Team Eight at the PGH Illinois Sophomore ID Camp. She maintained good awareness on the defensive end and rotated over from the help side to contest a layup, forcing the miss. Elizabeth closed out hard to contest a perimeter shot, then snatched the defensive rebound. She demonstrated confidence with the ball under pressure, changing directions with between-the-legs and crossover dribbles. Elizabeth noticed an opening, cut quickly to the basket, caught the entry pass in stride, and finished the layup without missing a step.

There’s no hesitation on the shot when it comes to Carlson. She’ll let it fly the moment she catches it, and for good reason, she’ll knock down the majority of them. If she’s run off the line, she has the confidence and a solid enough handle to get to the rim and finish. On the defensive end, her size can be used to her advantage by pressuring the ball handler, getting low, and staying attached. There’s definite potential here.

Elizabeth was an effective two-way guard who stood out for Pink Elite National E40 15U at the Great Lakes Kickoff on Saturday. Her ability to sink shots from beyond the arc and get to the rim keeps defenders on their heels. Elizabeth made the opponent pay for leaving her open, draining two triples from the wing. She used a quick rip move to get by her defender and went by for a layup. Elizabeth swiped the ball away at half court and put the pedal down to break away for another layup.

Carlson does not let her size dictate how she plays, especially on the defensive end. She plays a pesky type of game and can throw off an entire possession just by how much she moves throughout the floor.
