and Treynor High School are sitting with a 19-2 record overall throughout their first 21 games this season. It’s hard to the argue with the results and Thornton, along with this group, are getting results. The coaching staff that this program possesses is very good at getting everyone to buy-in and they are very good when it comes to the X’s and O’s on the strategic side. Thornton transferred into this program a few years back and ever since they have gotten her into favorable situations. They have lined things up so she gets the ball on the blocks with adequate time and space offensively. When you have that occur and pair it with a player that is pretty physical in general, it can do wonders. Thornton is a vital key to this groups success in between-the-blocks. She continues to show up each and every night they lace up their kicks. Like we said to start this off, it’s hard to argue with results and Thornton has been getting results for a while now.

committed to Iowa Western last week and now she is ready to put together a Winter to remember for her last go-around with Treynor High School. Thornton moves around right now at the high school level but in college, she will need to play more of a CG depending on her teams lineup. Thornton does stand at just over 5’11 so she could be placed in that SF/4 spot mix but again, it all comes down to the system at hand. Ideally, she will be versatile as a 3 and be able to post smaller defenders up that might try to matchup with her in given situations. For now though, we should see another impactful season out of Thorton and Company. Treynor should be in the State conversation once again come 2026 but we will just have to wait and see.

‘s switch from high schools this season seems to have been a good choice at this point in her journey. Last night Thornton took it upon herself to help lead her Treynor team against Tri-Center. When the contest ended, Thornton was the game leader in points with 13. Coming into a school that has a long history of success can be somewhat intimidating but this is someone that has taken the bull by the horns in a sense. She has really driven into everything with an open mind and because of that, she is seeing some consistent success. Treynor always gives their opponents a run for their money so it’ll be fun to see how they fair they next few weeks come Post Season play.

of Fremont-Mills. Thornton would be considered a Combo Guard, that can be moved around the perimeter or she can use her size and post up quickly against smaller opponents near the block. She has a solid handle while attacking downhill and she is able to give a good pass to an open teammate when the chance presents itself. For AAU, Thornton competes out of Nebraska with a competitive Attack program. This is another player being added to these rankings with some promising potential. If she is used in the correct ways and she continues to work hard off of the ball, she is going to keep seeing positive results moving forward.
