Etta greatly improved her stock as a recruit after putting together a fantastic Junior season for the Lady Panthers. She had always been more of a role player in the past, but this year, she stepped up to be their “#2” to

, whether that was helping to initiate the offense or looking for offense herself, plus she is a tough-nosed defender with a great motor. She is just one of those quiet, business-like players who goes out and does her job until there is no time left on the clock. One of the elite small college programs could get a good one in her.

Watching Etta quite a bit throughout June and July, you can see she has made a significant jump from her Freshman to her Sophomore year. She is much stronger, now, more naturally explosive, and she plays with a great deal of versatility. When she needs to, she can use her strength and ability inside the paint to defend and rebound. However, Etta is a wing skillfully and can handle it a little like a point forward. She’s a multilevel scorer as well, and she can shoot it outside or get to the rim. I look for her to make another jump this season.

Young is the type of player that makes the right choices- knowing when to drive to the basket and score, understanding how to maneuver her way to the rim with spin moves and correct footwork, shooting the mid-range jumper in flow with the offense. Active rebounder, and great job finding her teammates for open looks!

Since I saw her last Summer, Etta has grown a little, she has gotten stronger, and she is playing with a lot more versatility. She has turned into a really nice small college prospect who I think most of the elite Midwestern schools would like. She has an athletically strong frame, nice length, and she moves/changes directions well. She can handle it in transition, score it from the perimeter or mid-post, plus she defends with versatility and will mix it up/rebound inside.
