About Genevieve

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my game play style as tough and a decision maker. I try to be tough in the post and fight for any and all possessions. I am a strong decision maker because in any place on the court you have to decide how to score as a team efficiently and what would give our team the most success.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality on the court is to work hard for all parts of the game, to get rebounds, hustle back, and keep court vision. My personality on the bench or off the court is to be a cheerleader, to be someone who is supportive to everyone no matter what adversity we might face.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

At Grand Ledge High School I am involved in Links, NHS, and Key Club. All of those programs focus around volunteering in ways that will benefit my community. I have received awards for the 2024 Varsity Team All Conference Academic Award for basketball and lacrosse.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

The skills I have developed from partaking in these programs is teamwork. In all of my volunteer opportunities I do them as a group with multiple other people. This has helped me strengthen my teamwork abilities on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced injury challenges throughout my athletic career involving my ankles, with those injuries it has taught me the importance of a healthy recovery so I can come back healthier and stronger than before. This has also taught me how much I truly love basketball and how lucky I am to be able to enjoy and perform at a high level the sport I love.

What type of college are you looking for?

My college preferences include a smaller college which provides a career path in Kinesiology or Exercise Science. Also, I enjoy colleges with rich campus life which will help me build a new home away from home.

During the station segment she did well pivoting, driving to the basket with crossover dribbles, and using both hands to finish layups. Genevieve seals well in the post and is a post I will be following this winter.
