Gracee’s name has changed since I last saw her, but her game remains the same. A stretch four that can shoot the lights out, she came out on fire and looked like she was going to be impossible to stop. Her nine in the first quarter, two of which were three-pointers, helped the Dale Pirates jump out to a lead that they would never relinquish. Throughout the rest of the game, she showed the ability to handle the ball and make some tremendous passes as Preston began to focus a little more defensive pressure on her at the perimeter. She is a tough forward who battles hard inside and plays strong defense and was the all-around best player on the court on Tuesday night.

Gracee has shown already this season in Dale’s three opening wins that she can absolutely shut down the paint. She has racked up the blocks and made it clear that if you’re gonna beat the Pirates, you’re gonna need to shoot it. That’s not to say that you are definitely gonna beat the defending champs that way either. Gracee is a shooter herself. It’s a pretty shot, with a nice, high release that more often than not hits nothing but net. Waller is an incredible prospect and deserves far more interest than she is receiving thus far.

Ok, I know I said we had a lot of youngsters, but first let’s start with a senior… and a champion. Gracee is listed as a four, which is no doubt due to her propensity to swat shots like Mutombo inside, but she plays offense much more like a three. She is absolutely deadly from behind the arc. Her highlight reel features gorgeous shot after gorgeous shot. That alone would be enough to merit some recruitment, but then you see her heart, hustle, and effort, and you realize that Gracee is much more than “just a shooter.” A huge part of a State Championship team, Gracee is a leader and definite college prospect who is already seeing the offers come in. You’re not going to want to miss your chance, coaches.
