Gracie, a sophomore forward for Newberry, has put together an impressive season and will be a key player to watch in tonight’s Regional Final. Her team will be counting on another strong performance as they take on Indian River Inland Lakes with a trip to the next round on the line. Gracie is a versatile scorer who can step out and knock down shots from the perimeter, while also using her ball-handling and quick moves to create driving lanes toward the basket. Around the rim, she shows great touch and solid footwork to finish through traffic. She is also active on the boards and plays with a physical edge, never backing down when the game gets tough.

Gracie is currently the highest-ranked yooper in the 2028 class, and she delivered a statement performance at the Zero Star Showcase. Playing against top U.P. talent, Gracie separated herself as one of the best prospects in the gym, regardless of class. She has an accurate perimeter jumper, creates space to drive with her combination dribbles, uses fantastic footwork in the paint, and finishes efficiently around the basket. Gracie is a strong rebounder and doesn’t shy away from contact. She was All-U.P. honorable mention as a freshman, and I expect her to have an even bigger sophomore season at Newberry.

Gracie grabbed my attention at practice a year ago, and she’s only gotten better since. Gracie fit right in against the older girls and was the best 2028 prospect on the court at the Zero Star Showcase. She knocked down triples during the three-point shooting drills and really shined during the 2v2 segment. Gracie used a jab move and attacked downhill to score a contested layup off the glass. She drove middle, spun, and used an excellent step-through to score another tough shot at the rim. Gracie drove by a defender with a burst to score a layup off two feet and scored contested layups with both hands. She buried a fadeaway, straightaway triple, elbow jumper, and a drop-step layup off the glass. Gracie continued to stand out during the games, swiping the ball away on defense and taking it the other way to score a contested layup. She snagged a defensive rebound, raced down the court, initiated contact with her shoulder, and scored off two feet. Gracie absorbed contact and used the glass to finish tough shots all day. She was a Top Performer, and I’m excited to follow her high school career at Newberry.
