With the graduation of stars like Alyssa Wypych, Maddie Petroelje, and Tianna Daye, who are all competing at the next level, there is still plenty of talent to see in the Red. Get ready for another exciting year of sports with these top-performing players. They are sure to impress once again and keep you on the edge of your seat. Check out the list below and get ready to witness some sensational performances.
Reynolds is a smooth guard who can do it all. She scores at all three levels and is a great passer. She can take over the game at any time. I see a big senior season coming for Gabby and we will be seeing her name in the Miss Basketball conversation.
I have known for some time that Wypych is an elite competitor. However, she proved her skills at the State Finals last year for anyone that may have doubted her. As an underclassman, she put her team on her back and went off for 20 points and 8 rebounds. She was the PGH 2025 Player of the Year a year ago and could be a repeat with another season like she had. Wypych and her Rockford team finished 14-0 in the conference last season, and with Wypych running the show, I think we will see that again.
Does anyone have more ice in their veins than Grace Lyons?! She made the game-winning 3-pointer in last year’s State Finals, and I predict she will make many more this season. She already holds the record at Rockford for career 3’s and will continue to add to that number this season. Ferris State is getting a great player in Lyons.
Wolfe was the only Freshman on the All-Conference team last season. She also was the PGH 2026 Player of the Year last season. She is a top 10 PGH player and Division 1 prospect who continues to improve her game. With a player like Wolfe who will do whatever she needs for her team to win, Rockford will continue to dominate.
Highlights
The Walsh University commit had a great junior season for Grandville. She averaged 11.8 points and 5 rebounds per game last season. The point guard will need to continue her solid play to give her team a chance to win more games this season.
DeSmit was one of only two sophomores on the All-Conference team a season ago. Hudsonville placed second in the conference last season. With the graduation of Petrolje, Baker, and Reifschneider, DeSmit will need to take on an ever bigger role this season. And after watching her this fall, I think she will have no problem doing that!
Berndt is a guard who does a little bit of everything for her Grand Haven team. She was a 1st-team All-Conference selection a season ago. She will need to put up big numbers again to give her team a chance to climb the ladder in the OK Red.
