Rock Valley is known as a place with some dedicated shooters of the basketball but something this is overshadowed is their Forward play under the hoop. The past three years we have seen Miylie Zomer Miylie Zomer 5'11" | SF Rock Valley | 2026 IA do her thing underneath and that will be the case for one more go-around over the next six months. Zomer is a serviceable Forward with a decent mixture of skill, touch, coordination, balance, and smarts. She can make simple plays near the hoop with her back-to-the-basket or she can score back off of a rebound. Either way, if she has a clean look offensively, it’s usually going to be good! Not every single time, but most of the time. If Zomer can keep that up for another six month stretch, this team should be one that makes some headlines come Playoff time.

Miylie Zomer Miylie Zomer 5'11" | SF Rock Valley | 2026 IA of Rock Valley High School stepped up several times last Winter to be one of her team’s top dawgs. Zomer, a 5’11 SF, played off her team’s guard action all season long and she is going to get the chance to do that one more time this upcoming season for her Senior year. Zomer has a mixture of size, balanced coordination, body control, and a great attitude. She is always giving it her all under neath, basically doing whatever she can to help the cause really. This Winter Zomer won’t be their main shot taker or maker but she will be in the conversation again for being one of the most productive players on her own team and within her conference. Those are things she should be proud of and things that will help her team win some games in the long run.

The inside presence for the Rockets all season long has been Miylie Zomer Miylie Zomer 5'11" | SF Rock Valley | 2026 IA at the SF position and she did a great job of bruising down low against the Blackhawks. Zomer stands at 5’11 and she is somewhat versatile in what she can do. She is more of a post player that sits on the block to do her work but once she catches there, she has options. She can use her natural size to bully the defense with physicality, she can score over the top off of a pivot going either direction, or she can pump fake and step through in some specific situations. All of this was on full display in her team’s contest today when she received the ball and that was refreshing to see as it played a major role in their “team” success.

The Rock Valley Rockets are going to have a chance to get to the 2A State Title game if they play their cards right and their usual producers do what they can. The Rockets have put together an impressive season but I think it’s going to come to down to how well Miylie Zomer Miylie Zomer 5'11" | SF Rock Valley | 2026 IA plays. If she handles the middle and holds her own by the hoop with her size, this team is going to be able to go places. This group does have others who are able and skilled producers but the advantage they have is this height from Zomer. This size and coordination advantage in the middle could play a huge factor as to why this team continues to win.
