Caryl was a force the entire game. “Diesel” is very strong and she used that advantage to score well around the hoop, clear rebounds and draw a great amount of attention on the offensive glass. Going perfect from the field other than a pair of missed three point attempts, she fought through contact to get to the line. Caryl made all 5 attempts on the way to 15 points.

Caryl was consistent around the rim all night, showcasing polished footwork and the ability to finish effectively with either hand. She was strong on the glass and demonstrated her versatility by securing rebounds, pushing the break, and making sound decisions that led to easy scoring opportunities. Defensively, she was impactful in the paint, using her strength and toughness to deny opposing post players deep position. She also extended her range by confidently knocking down shots from the perimeter.

Every War Game needs a heavy hitter. One of the best heavy hitters of all time was Kevin Nash, aka Diesel. So I will start putting together a team with my own Diesel. Caryl will lead this team. She is a double-double producer on the court for the Topeka High Trojans. She is as tough as it comes and is not afraid to play mean in the paint. She is a fireball emotional leader who can both defend and score. Caryl is ranked No. 7 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. Her finishing move in the ring would be a version of the “Razor’s Edge” to be named “The Siege of Troy.”

Caryl is the first of my two “meat and potatoes” role players on this squad. Affectionally known as “Diesel,” she will be my enforcer and shut-down defender in the paint. She also gives me another scorer inside, and someone willing to fight for offensive rebounds to extend possesions. She has more grit in her game than John Wayne and Jeff Bridges combined. Rural’s Vickery will be the poised captain on this squad, while the fiery Caryl will be the emotional court leader. She is ranked No. 7 overall by PGH Kansas in the Class of 2028.

Another athlete coming off a solid freshman season is known as “Diesel.” Caryl is a dangerous post player who is physical and plays a rough-and-tough style of ball. In ways, she reminds me of WWE’s Ivey Nile. She is ranked No. 4 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. I saw her play a couple of times last season, and Topeka High has one of the better gyms in Topeka for watching basketball.

This signature shot, combined with her array of nuanced post maneuvers, makes her incredibly difficult to guard one-on-one. Her refined footwork and diverse offensive arsenal truly highlight her dominance in the low post.
