Gerald is entering her senior season at 5A Dutch Fork and she is more than poised to ensure that swan song campaign puts an exclamation point on her high school career. Her Friday morning at Riverview Park commenced with a dominant performance against defending 5A Division 1 champion Blythewood and she helped the Silver Foxes’ cause with 27 points. Gerald plays with a heads-up attitude at all times. This displays itself on the defensive end where she can switch her defensive assignments on the fly and use her length to deflect her opposing team’s passes. Offensively, she is a consistent threat to take – and make – her 3-point attempts. Gerald averaged 10 points, six assists, 4.7 steals and 4.3 rebounds in 24 games last season. 

Dutch Fork’s contest in the second round of the 5A Division 1 tournament against Byrnes can be considered one of the signature contests of said round – regardless of classification. The Silver Foxes earned the 55-52 victory over the Rebels in large part thanks to the 18 points placed on the scoreboard by Dutch Fork’s junior standout guard. Through the 22 games that Gerald has played this season with the Silver Foxes, she has averaged 10 points, six assists, 4.8 steals and 4.3 rebounds per contest. Gerald leads Dutch Fork in assists and steals. Up next for the Silver Foxes is a Monday Upper State semifinal get-together at Mauldin. 

After competing in 25 games last season for one of the premier teams in the state in 5A Division 1 Dutch Fork, Gerald is displaying she is ready to up her game for the Silver Foxes. She is an efficient floor runner and that attribute of her game particular shows itself with how she makes plays in transition. Gerald possesses plenty of speed and quickness and has no problems drawing contact to give her and her team chances at the free throw line. She can play the role of a point or a shooting guard. The defense Gerald plays can also lead to additional offensive possessions for her team.
