Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Janielle led Eisenhower in scoring, averaging 13 points per game. She was crucial to the Eagles’ memorable postseason run to the State Semifinals. Janielle competes hard on both ends, and her high energy/competitiveness always stands out. She’s very quick laterally, can fill it up from three-point range, penetrates off the dribble, finishes through contact, and fires skip passes across the court to open teammates.

With two of Eisenhower’s star 2028 guards inactive on Saturday, the Eagles needed Janielle to step up. She did that and then some at the Best of Michigan Holiday Classic. Janielle led the team with 15 points and ripped the nets from downtown with four triples. Her pressure defense led to three steals, and Janielle fired passes across the court to open teammates. She pushes the tempo to create transition scoring and has a great opportunity to compete against a tough backcourt tonight.

Janielle had a standout performance at Wade’s World Showcase, showing why she’s such a valuable presence on the court. A vocal leader and steady communicator, she kept her team organized and energized throughout the day. Her 3v3 squad made it all the way to the finals, thanks in part to her strong two-way play — she walled up on defense to stop a fast break, finished tough around the rim, and knocked down shots from deep with confidence. Janielle’s leadership and all-around game make her the kind of player every team wants on the floor.

She buried a wing three and swiped two steals to score two left-handed layups off two feet in a short span. Janielle put immense pressure on the opposing team’s ball-handlers with her relentless pressure and added another left-handed layup off two feet. She made strong passes to teammates and stood out as one of the most active contributors on both ends.

Janielle played with determination on both sides of the ball and her efforts helped Eisenhower win a fall league title at the Compound on Sunday. Janielle wrestled the ball out of her opponent’s hands twice on defense, used a jab step to create separation with her dribble, and buried an impressive step-back 3-pointer. Janielle crashed the boards hard to secure offensive rebounds, converted shots off two feet around the rim, and hit important free throws after causing fouls by driving hard to the basket. Janielle’s passionate play was vital to the team’s success on Sunday and she will be an impact player for Eisenhower this winter.

Turner had a fantastic day at The Freshman Showcase. She pushes the pace in transition and can handle any kind of pressure she faces with her elite ball-handling. She knocked down a 3 at the top of the key. I would say her best quality is her intense defense. I am looking forward to watching Janielle compete for the next four years.

Janielle is a scrappy guard on defense who will light it up from beyond the arc when she gets hot. She works to redirect ball handlers and cause turnovers on defense. Janielle will be a guard to watch at our Freshman Showcase.
